Is there a bill tracking app that does this?

I’m looking for an app that I can input all my bills in a calendar on the date they go out and then once the bill goes out the app automatically puts a tick beside it or changes colour and deducts the bill amount from the total still left to go out. Without me having to update it every time a bill goes out.
So that I can open the app at any point in the month and see how much money I need to have in the account for the remaining bills and then make any transfers in my online banking if necessary.

Does that exist?

It is pricey, I think it's $100 a year. It's always changed in dollars so varies with the exchange rate. When I signed up (a bit over 2 years ago) it was cheaper and there is a pay monthly option, so I used that for a couple of months so I wasn't forking out the whole fee in case I didn't get on with it.

I did begrudge paying for it but I had been attempting to follow the theory for several months in a spreadsheet with not much luck so I bit the bullet. Thought it would be a net loss but worth it in terms of transparency, but actually, it's saved far more than it costs even at the newer higher price, even at the monthly price. I can't tell you exactly how I've saved the money because in all honesty I have no idea what we were spending it on before. We haven't even been living on a strict budget since we got it either, we've had a new car, 2 new phones, redone a bedroom, had a baby. But now we are not spending on whatever we were spending on, and we're actually ending up with more money at the end of a month than we started with, consistently, every month (or 11 out of 12).

The customer support will allegedly increase your free trial if you want to try it for longer than a month. I was sold on it by a month so I didn't bother.

@MaryAndGerryLivingInDerry

I’ve had a look at YNAB and it says free trial. How much is it after that? I can’t really justify paying for something like this.

Tried to get back on money dashboard and it keeps saying “oops there is a problem” so I’ve given up.

It’s about £70 a year.

It’s honestly worth much more, but it’s a philosophy of managing money more than an app. It works because it gives you transparency over your priorities of how you choose to spend your money. But it does have a learning curve and it’s not set it and forget it, you need to be a bit hands-on - but that’s its value.

This is useful: uk.pcmag.com/personal-finance/2470/ynab

It’s honestly great, but you do need a bit of faith a d commitment at the beginning!

Get a starling account, set up bugets/spaces, use the categories, it even has a bills space that does everything for you automatically. Save £70.

Thanks. I can’t justify £70 right now, even if paying monthly. Will try some of the other suggestions.
