Period Pants for super heavy flow?

GrannytoaUnicorn · 14/01/2022 11:03

Hi does anyone with a very heavy flow use period pants successfully without tampons please? If so, which brand do you recommend?
I'm currently having to use Tena Silhouette disposable pants meant for incontinence, as super plus tampons AND night time full absorbency pads worn together are just not enough.

Thanks

I would see your GP first to see if there's anything they can prescribe to ease the heavy flow. Tranexamic acid for example eased mine a lot.

Yes I use modibodi they are expensive but I tend to buy when offers on. First two days of period are horrendous. Every month I was changing bed sheets. Not anymore! I use the heavy flow ones and they have literally changed my life.

ModiBodi 24hr for overnight and the overnight ones for the day with a change around lunchtime.

The first two days are horrendous but. no. leaks at all.

@GrannytoaUnicorn Unfortunately I haven’t found a brand that works for my super heavy days.

I have:
cheeky wipes
Wuka
Flex
Modibodi

For me they are fine on days 1, 4 &5 but 2 & 3 are out of the question just wearing them alone. They get very wet and will leak after 4 hours. I have the highest absorbency for all them.

Sadly for me I don’t find them that eco friendly due to my heavy periods. I waste a lot of water rinsing them out, then sticking in the washing machine & I still have to use a tampon when I’m out of the house especially on my heavy days.

Cheeky wipes got a bit loose and misshapen after about 3 months (that was just hand washing only) Even though I have been able to rinse and wash immediately Flex & Cheeky have permanent reddish stains.

They have an overnight type? That’s interesting. Modibodi was the first one I bought so I haven’t been on their website in a long time. I may need to have another look!

I use the heavy overnight ones not just at night but during the day for the first two days before them I was using tampon and maternity pads and still leaking.

Lucky you It made mine even worse

The thought of basically wearing just a pair of knickers on the days when my period is really heavy makes me feel ill and unhygienic. I go through umpteen tampons and towels used at the same time just can’t see how this pair of period pants is remotely preferable

@reluctantbrit Do you have a referral code/link for Modibodi please? (You should do if you have registered with their site?)
It will earn both of us a £15 coupon!

Thanks
