Night terrors / pain??

My nearly 4 year old DS keeps waking in the night crying/screaming saying his knee hurts. He is inconsolable, thrashing about, nothing seems to soothe him, screaming at the top of his lungs about his knee. It’s almost like a huge tantrum, where he’s that worked up he can’t get out of it then after a while he just stops and starts snoring!!

Does this sound like night terrors? His dad and older siblings all had night terrors

Did you mean the post the exact same post in separate locations?

Meant to say, is he walking normally? Any changes in gait during the day? Is it painful at night when touching the knee? Swollen? Red? Limp? Is the 'pain' just in the middle of the night?

I think his knee is fine, walking fine, moving it fine, looks the same etc sometimes during the day if he’s having a melt down, say as he doesn’t want to pick a toy he’s thrown up then he will say he can’t cause his knee hurts and start tantrumming. Almost like he realises I pay attention if he says something hurts ? Sometimes he forgets which knee hurts and grabs the opposite one.

This happened with my DD, was always her ankle. We started to realise that it would happen after s particularly active day, so if it was PE day at school, if we'd been on a slightly longer bike ride or walk, if she'd been running around for a good couple of hours at soft play etc, once we realised that we would do Calpol before bed on those days and it really helped. Seemed to be growing pains which aren't actually anything to do with growing, but cause cramps, which as we know are painful. We also try and make sure she's better with drinking more water, which helps.

My daughter gets this. Google growing pains. Calpol usually helps.
