Music in car - can you help me move on from CDs?

How do you all play music in the car?

A friend was horrified recently that I play CDs in my car. And I am a bit, I got rid of all my CDs ages ago during my MN inspired Marie Kondo phase (before I had a car), but now I find myself buying them back..

I guess I can connect my phone via Bluetooth? It's a modernish car. But then how do I get the music on my phone?

I don't know where to start, can any wise mumsnetters help?

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions I'm going to have a go with Spotify free version and see how if I can work that out and then maybe pay for it.

Seems there are lots of other options if this doesn't work though, thanks again 😊

If you are in the UK, BBC Sounds is free - you don't even need a TV licence.

But remember, many of these services use up mobile data, so you will either need a good mobile contract or be able to download content onto your phone

I have Spotify and download albums to my phone then connect via Bluetooth. Dp has a "design classic" aka 20 year old gas guzzler and uses a special tape thing with a lead to connect his phone. My car is more reliable both for music and breaking downGrin

@wishingitwasspring

Does Spotify mean you use a lot of phone memory downloading music?
You don't have to download you can stream, that would use data. I have an sd card so plenty of memory to download playlists.
