Hey
Not really sure why I’m posting, just feel as if I’m talking to someone when I post.
Suffering with anxiety at the moment. Husband is away for the next 6 months and whenever he goes away I always think something is going to happen to me and nobody would know. I have 2 children and we live over 2 hours away from family.
I think it’s more health anxiety as I always think I’m going to have some health issue whilst he’s away.

Are you having any treatment for your anxiety ?
What plan do you have in place for if something did happen ?

No treatment yet, been back and forwards to drs, A&E etc but not given me anything. My daughter is 8 so she knows how to use my phone if she needed to call for help. Other than that not a lot really. I know a couple of the neighbours

I contacted the GP last week regarding anxiety and palpitations and was prescribed beta blockers.
These palpitations have only started recently and it has coincided with my husband working away from home.
What I wanted to ask was when I get a palpitation it feels like a missed beat, if that makes sense but my heart rate isn’t high when it’s happening, is this normal? I immediately feel my pulse or check using my pulse oximetry finger monitor. It’s not usually racing. So if I take my beta blockers when my heart isn’t racing will it slow down my heart rate too much? It’s usually only one missed beat then a few minutes later maybe another and this can be on and off throughout the day (not all day long) I know I am super aware of them now as it’s what I’m waiting and looking out for but I just don’t know when to take the beta blocker?
I could just have one all day then no more.
I took half of one the other day as I felt panicky and I felt like it did really work, I haven’t taken a full one as I was worried about the feeling dizzy side effects.
Obviously with my anxiety I’ve been Googling and I know that just adds to the anxiety but I just want to be reassured that they are normal in a sense and not like an abnormal heart rhythm?
This is what I have just sent to my GP anyone advise on any of my questions? Thank you
