What does a 50th birthday for around sixty guests look like?

I have a very blank canvas for any fiftieth celebrations, and too many possibilities makes for poor inspiration. To get some idea, I’ve drafted a first round guest list, but I could get more or fewer if the format demanded it. What are you looking for in a party? Drinks and nibbles at home (like a student house party of old, but with waiters?) or would you like to go out for a chance to hit an actual dance floor? Party to be later this summer - possible pandemic complications to be ignored at this stage, and factored in later once inspiration has gripped me.

Generally a bit shit these days. If you give your guests a warm welcome, stuff them with food and get them drunk they will be happy.

Our group of friends had a round of 50 year birthdays a few years back. Each reflected their life unintentionally! One had a lovely dinner and drinks in her house - black tie, and catered. Great sense of occasion.
One had a hog roast and square dancing in a shed. No one could square dance but it was fab.
One had dinner in a restaurant.
One sent us to a show and a meal after but could not come themselves😂😂😂
