Soup maker

In the interests of reducing food waste and eating better I’m looking at getting a soup maker - can anyone give me a recommendation? I have a small kitchen so the smaller the better and would be great if it could also do smoothies as the children live these.

Please don’t tell me I can just make soup on the stove with a stick blender - I am chronically ill and rarely have the energy.

Thanks in advance

I often use pre chopped soup veg from the supermarket, or slightly chop up ready prepared butternut squash or sweet potato from the ready prepped veg section, prepared leeks are easy, cauliflower isn’t hard to cut and cauliflower cheese soup is very popular here.

I have gone through a couple in the last 7 years or so, I have fibromyalgia and wouldn’t feel up to making soup with a pan and blender. I would throughly recommend and the Tefal and Morphy Richards are both fine.

After years of deliberation, I have just bought one and don't regret it. I bought a Salter one which is on offer at £39.99 at Robert Dyas at the moment. I have made several soups from my new Covent garden soup recipe book and all have worked really well.

I use frozen veg in mine.

We have the Lakeland touch screen soup maker. It's wonderful and does lovely smoothies as well... but the glass jug is incredibly heavy and I struggle with it. So that's probably one to rule out
@onwardsandupwards22, no, I put the frozen veg in straight from the packet, add stock, seasoning, any fresh veg I am adding like cut up potatoes, carrots or peppers(I don’t buy them frozen). Press start.
Excellent! I have some frozen cabbage to use up... any recipes much appreciated Grin

Love my MR with saute function. It is so much easier than using a stick blender and the soup is much nicer . I buy frozen sofrito if i am being lazy and just add the main vegetable ie butternut squash .

Sorry @onwardsandupwards, I don’t use frozen cabbage so no advice!
