Feeling hopeful that we might get a holiday this year🤞 ! We usually sail from Dublin and stay around Brittany, but weather can be hit and miss . Hoping to travel a bit further this year in hope of more sunshine . Any recommendations? 2 children , aged 8 and 6 . Tia

We’ve stayed here before and Coex and the surrounding area were lovely, nice beaches nearby and the site itself was great.

Are you looking for tent or mobile home accommodation?

Highly recommend here. It's great for families. There is a beautiful lake a short walk from it (with a lovely creperie!), amazing swimming pools and not far to beaches.

Try to get a trip into Puy Du Fou. If you can. Are you driving with your own tent/caravan? If so there used to be a good site in Les herbiers. If you have a camper or motor home you can stay in the Aire in the car park.

Came on to recommend Le Pin Parasol and I see someone has beaten me to it! Our two were similar ages when we went and it was fantastic. There is a Go Ape type place 15 mins away in Saint-Julien-des-Landes which we all loved - unlike most places here in the UK, even little ones can get involved on a low level ropes course so it was great fun.

Thanks everyone ! le pin parasol was actually one that had caught my eye previous to posting here . Is it very far from the beach ? Would it be walking distance to any shops or restaurants?
@ureterr1blemuriel we are looking for mobile home accommodation

Les Brunelles in Longeville sur mer. Excellent pool, clean and modern mobile homes and a walk to a lovely beach.

If you don’t mind travelling a bit further south taking a ferry across at Royan, I can highly recommend:

We go to this area most years, miles and miles of quiet sandy beaches lined by pine forests 😍

How do you find the ferry from Dublin? We did rosslare to Cherbourg last time we went.
Sugarpaper · 09/01/2022 19:30

Pin Parasol is about 20 mins drive to lots of lovely beaches. There is a supermarket and others shops and cafes in Coex just down the road. You can cycle there in 15 mins. The campsite has a shop and bars and restaurant. You can walk to a lovely creperie on the lake. Very happy summer memories here!

Take a look at Les Charmettes, it's a bit further than the vendeé. Great site and lots to do in the area. Here's hoping we all get away without any covid issues 🤞

@Pucarbuile this is the first time we will have gone from Dublin . We usually go from cork . I prefer the times with Britney ferries , you dock around 7 am so it's a shorter sailing by around 4ish hours and you arrive at your campsite relatively early in the day . However , cork is a 3 hour drive from where we live and Dublin port only about 40
Mins so we decided to go with Irish ferries this year instead. The commute from Cork to home is a bit of a killer when you arrive back in Ireland .

@naturallydelicious hello coming on this thread from a MN search as we are looking for the exact same thing this year. Wondering how you found it and where you ended up staying?
