How often do you take your toddler out and about ?

I'm wondering what other parents routines are ?

If your little one goes to nursery for example- do you take them out and about shopping / soft play / playground every weekend, on both days ?

Or if little one is staying home with you, what do you get up to on a daily basis ?

Mine is about to turn 2 and just trying to gage if we do enough. Confused

DD goes to nursery 3 days a week, and she's busy with classes on two weekdays (2 on one day, 3 on the other). At weekends we have a day out with DH on Saturdays (big museum or similar attraction), on Sundays the leisure centre, a class and some other activity in the afternoon. We're in London so there's always lots going on (last month was booked full of kids theatre shows and Christmassy events), so if we didn't get out every week we'd miss out on the chance to do things we want to do (like seeing particular shows or exhibitions which are on a limited run).

My toddler is in nursery 5 days a week, but on the weekends or during holidays we always do 2 outings a day around the lunch time nap. He will not sleep in his buggy readily so naps do need to be in his cot. But over Christmas we did a few all day outings where he managed to push through with a short snooze either in the car or in his buggy. I also have a 4 year old so we try to accommodate both their needs. The main thing with both of our kids, is physically tiring them with exercise and getting lots of fresh air. So it might be a trip to the park, or walk down to the shops for one of the outings. With the other being an activity like swimming or soft play or a trip to a kids theatre show or a museum etc. we tend to all fall out and the kids start playing up if we are stuck in the house too long. On a cold and rainy day like today it's more limiting but we put the kids in their puddle suits and go out anyway. We live in london so there are some good options and we rarely drive, but sometimes I'd love to live in the countryside to be able to avoid playgrounds!
