Hi , I cant seem to find any link to what i am experiencing . But I had the pfizer vaccine 1st dose and ended up having flu like symptoms for two weeks . Got better up until the 2nd dose and I had itching on soles and palms of hands the next day . This has spread to my whole body( no rash) with a burning sensation . This has been going on for 6 weeks now . I want to know if anyone else is experiencing this as well . Waiting for an appointment with neurology by Gp .

Could it be shingles? Strangely I know 2 people who have had this recently who have also had recent boosters. Not sure if it’s just a coincidence though.

blacc · 08/01/2022 03:40

I had Astra zeneca for both my original jabs, but pfizer for my booster, and since then have been very itchy on my arms and neck It's been about three weeks now and I still have it.

pickacard · 08/01/2022 07:47

Yes, unfortunately I know more about this than I would wish to!
1st Pfizer dose late arvo in August 2021 - woke up that night with intense itching, inc on palms of hands and soles of feet. Also the usual - incredibly sore arm and under the weather for a day or two.

2nd Pfizer dose Sept 2021. Initially mentioned strange itching after first shot to nurse, who suggested I took an antihistamine when I got home. Then received second shot and had immediate anaphylactic reaction - given three shots of adrenaline and taken to hospital by ambulance. Have been on two Loratadine (antihistamines, v helpful) per day ever since and am awaiting appt with immunologist (am not in the UK so it might work differently here).

Am now medically exempt from further shots and PEG allergy is the suspected culprit for the AR, but yet to be confirmed. Do look into this if you can, just to keep yourself safe if you consider a booster.
Neuro-type symptoms have persisted since Sept, inc tightening, pressure, numbness and pins and needles in face, tongue, neck, head, back, legs and feet. Won’t bore you with every symptom, but they are all covered in a very good forum here:

vestibular.org/forum/symptoms/tingling-numbness-in-body/

Good luck and I hope I haven’t given you more to worry about - I just wanted to flag up the PEG issue in case it applies to you (I have no medical background and have no idea if it would!). Also, to let you know that the neuro-type symptoms do appear to subside with time, though no one is completely sure (promising research into this is under way).

Ps. My personal experience only & of course these symptoms will in no way apply to everyone.

Itching for six months now following mine. Tops of arms, shoulders and chest. Saw gp who said it was dry skin Hmm. It's like an insanely stinging painful itch. I have another GP appt on Wednesday.

Mldnx · 08/01/2022 12:57

Hi thanks for replying . There is no rash present which is why i am worried , the itching feels deep into the skin . And gets worse at night .

I have read that after six months it should start to go away but honestly the antihistamines do not seem to help as well . Good luck with your appointment and please do let me know what the doctor says . My Gp does not seem to take me seriously .

Hope you find some way to get relief . Just wish I did not get the vaccine in the first place as it has caused problems .

Hi thanks for replying . I have had many vaccinations with no effect so i thought the pfizer might be the same only with a sore arm. But i am sitting now and scratching myself . Has your itching subsided or gotten better? Where is the itching . My comes and goes in different areas of my body and mainly is worse at night and morning . Please do let me know , if you have found anything helpful . Currently taking antihistamines and vitamin b12 .

I had booster on Wednesday just gone and although I'm fine in myself, first 2 doses gave me just a sore arm for couple of days. Booster has given me a small lump where injection was done and that lump was itchy as anything all day yesterday! Still have a small lump now on my arm where shot was done, but arm isn't sore and no more itchiness. All pfizer.

I have been itching last couple of weeks (had booster mid December) I didn't put it down to booster but now I'm wondering. The first dose bought me out in an itchy rash, second dose they gave me an antihistamine to take and I was fine, but stupidly forgot to mention this at my booster, and came up with an itchy rash over Christmas, that's gone now but I'm now itchy with no rash, worse at night. I didn't link it to the vaccine but now I'm wondering.

bettertocryinamercedes · 08/01/2022 16:01

That was the only symptom I really got with covid - a really itchy rash. So probably that's how it's played out with your vaccine.

Some people get aches and pains and flu like with it but your side effects was the itch?

Serenschintte · 08/01/2022 16:01

It could well be shingles. My friend had this after 2nd dose.
Make sure you have it reported as a side affect in Vaers.

I dont have a rash but just the itching and crawling sensation . Mainly itching feet, thighs, chest and neck . Had covid in August and 1st dose end of September. Which caused flu like symptoms and then i had the 2nd nose end of November which the next day i woke up with itchy feet and hands and now has spread to body . So do not know if it is linked .

Yes friend of ours has had long term psoriasis that was previously under control but since the vaccines it has exploded, with serious itching. Other friend has had itchy rash since vaccines.

Misspacorabanne · 08/01/2022 18:33

@Mldnx yes it's worse at night, mild during the day, sounds like mine! I wondered if it was my eczema but I don't have any rash, for me its leg's, arms, and back mainly.

ArnoldBee · 08/01/2022 18:50

Have you used the yellow card system to report your symptoms?

alloalloallo · 08/01/2022 18:55

One of my colleagues had mad itching after his Pfizer booster. No rash or anything, just crazy itchiness.

It lasted a few days and he was taking Piriton which helped

To start with it was bad enough he couldn’t sleep, couldn’t stop scratching to drive.

He’s fine now, no lasting effects from it

Mldnx · 08/01/2022 20:21

Yeah i have but just waiting on neurology appointment now despite asking for a mri scan from gp several times . They just dismiss anyone who thinks that the vaccina has long lasting effects .

Not trying to be dramatic or scare anyone, but itching (pruritis) without a rash can be caused by other undiagnosed factors such as kidney and liver issues.

Have a google and maybe get kidney and liver function tests for peace of mind. I am not saying that the itching being discussed was not caused by a reaction to the vaccine, but just mention other causes just in case.

You are right but i dont find it a coincidence that i started itching the next day after the vaccine . Two weeks before the vaccine i was at A&E for something else and liver function , fbc and other blood tests were done which were all normal.
