learning disability register?

Does anyone know what this is and how to find out if my child is on it?

I'm trying to get my Ds (aged 8) the covid jab when it becomes available for vulnerable children his age.

He has moderate learning difficulties, repaired cleft lip/palate, hearing loss, fluid on the brain, a hole in his brain where there shouldn't be one and one of his ribs is wonky. He has a diagnosed genetic condition but it's one of those rare ones that nobody knows what it means.

This is the criteria for getting the jab. He nearly qualifies under several criteria but not quite. The learning disability register is my last hope.

Chronic respiratory
disease
Including those with poorly controlled asthma1
that requires continuous or
repeated use of systemic steroids or with previous exacerbations requiring hospital
admission, cystic fibrosis, ciliary dyskinesias and bronchopulmonary dysplasia
Chronic heart
conditions
Haemodynamically significant congenital and acquired heart disease, or less
severe heart disease with other co-morbidity. This includes:
• single ventricle patients or those palliated with a Fontan (Total Cavopulmonary
Connection) circulation
• those with chronic cyanosis (oxygen saturations

Is it a local thing?
In my town children with disabilities are on a register ,known as " the record"
But as an aside thanks for posting the list as my son has a chromosomal abnormality ,so he should qualify .

According to this link it seems you talk to your GP. www.unitedresponse.org.uk/resource/the-learning-disability-register-how-to-sign-up-and-why-you-should/

Yes it is via your GP. It is important for other things as well as the Covid vaccine, such as annual health checks when older. Mental have more information here.

Thankyou, this is great. Also sounds like it could be the solution to our problem that the paed would quite like to discharge him but I would like the security of having someone who is interested in ds as a whole person rather than just his ears, eyes or feet.
