A harrowing BBC drama about Stephen Port's victims and the mishandling of their cases by police.
Police originally attributed the deaths to drug misuse and/or suicide.
The families and friends didn't accept the police view and continued to fight until eventually the deaths were linked and the murder trial brought.
During the programmes what struck me was I don't know if I'd have done it. If the police were telling me my gay son died from misusing a drug commonly used by gay men, even if Ii didnt think he was a drug user, I'm not sure how much I'd have challenged the "expert" view. Even if I really didn't believe it, I may well have felt there was nothing I could do in the face of authority. I was particularly struck by Gabriel's friend/former landlord who kept trying despite not having known him very long.
Would you have found the stength/energy to fight on their behalf?
I appreciate it was a drama, but it does claim to be the truth, from meticulous research.
