I once thought of doing it as a side hustle, but cakes (especially the rainbow and fondant ones) take me too long to bake and decorate. The quickest is about 2 hours (rainbow ones taking up to 6) and I doubt anybody would pay at least £100 (to make it worthwhile).

Yeah I’ve been working as a cake baker and about to quit as the money just isn’t there. I’m making one for £100 this weekend. I’ve spent £20 just on the fondant icing!! (It’s huge). I originally asked £135 but the customer said it was too much. So I simplified the design a little. But 2 days work, plus the cost of ingredients etc I’m pretty much doing it for the love of it. And I don’t love it anymore!!

Yours looks delicious - I’m v jealous!! Enjoy making them for friends and family.

Have you got any of the biscuits left? I only ask because having made biscoff cupcakes before, the biscuits go soft quite quickly so I usually wait and put them on at the last minute.
