I'd build in the wardrobe so there are separate spaces for clothes with proper doors that close. we have a walk-in and got moths so now there are moths in everything and you can't shut them out. If my clothes were all in separate drawers / cupboards with closeable doors, it would be easier to keep control of the moths.

Hadn’t thought about moths

I have walk in that is also big enough for a dressing room, which I find perfect for me.

I can heat that room whilst still having a lovely cool (cold) bedroom, which I prefer for sleeping.
I tend to be untidy - In there I can leave my makeup out, body and face moisturiser ready to use, hairdresser plugged in etc etc. My bedroom stays perfectly calm and tidy.
As well as hanging space I also have wall hooks - easy to hang clothes for second wear, store coat hangers (as in whenever I take something from hanging space, the hanger is stored there ready for clean clothes.
There is also space for an open laundry basket, so much easier to use. Things don't get left on top or 'next to' as it is so accessible.
I live alone but if there were 2 of us, one could dress or undress without disturbing the other.
I have never had an issue with moths.

If there isn't room to use it as a dressing room then it is less easy to see any advantage.

The first option has much more usable space. I don't think you have enough space for a walk in dressing room. Most of the area will be taken up by the doorway.

Door way would be at the end with no door so would be two walls either side with rails and cupboards

OK that makes sense. How much width do you have? I would say you need a minimum of 2m for 2 lots of hanging space 60cm deep and a walkway.
