Anyone moved flights recently?

Myself (fully vaccinated) and my Two teen DC's were supposed to be flying February to a country where over 12's have to be double vaccinated to get in

My teens aren't vaccinated so as it stands can't go

Rather than loose the flight money, I was going to change it for me and my partner, undecided yet on changing the destination / date.

Has anyone had any experience with moving flights? My username should give it away. They aren't exactly been forthcoming with solutions so far!

I should add, I am not expecting them to do it for nothing, I am aware it's not their fault some of the party cannot fly. I am not expecting to be totally ripped off by some change of info!

which airline?

Oh sorry I see from your user name. No chance then unless you bought an amendable fair.

I tried with Ryanair but it was cheaper to buy new flights with a different airline. They have a free flight change offer depending on when you booked your ticket but there are so many restrictions linked to this it's not worthwhile!

It’s usually just a case of logging in, selecting the flights and clicking ‘change/amend flights’ or similar. Then you can follow instructions.

But it does depend whether you’ve got a ticket that can be changed, terms and conditions etc.

Yeah good luck with that given who I think you are flying with from your username!

DH had 1 of 4 flights cancelled last month. They were very keen for him to keep the other 3 legs, but agreed to a full refund when he declined.

Looks like now flights home are going to be a pain. My evening includes coming up with viable routes for him to propose to the carrier, but no experience of Virgin customer service.

Should have said: the recent refund was eith a national carrier.

Weve had several issues in the past, and generally have found the big nationals pretty good.

Yes, the flights were booked last springtime with the famous last words, Covid will be over by then Hmm
I'm fully expecting to take the loss on the chin, just wondered if anyone had any luck!

I tried to move flights from February to October just while omicron settled but Ryanair was going to charge an over £1000 to change so I bought more comprehensive travel insurance instead and am still going in Feb.

The woman on the phone said Ryanair are really appalling at this sort of thing:(
