cracks in the wall - shall I be concerned?

We bought newly built house about just over 5 years now (it's a semi detached). However, over time cracks developed in the corners of the walls - ground floor and the bedroom upstairs (the wall attached to another building only). We had attic done up not that long ago and showed it to the builders. They didn't express any concerns over it.

It's not a problem to just get some plastering work done and get the walls repainted (due already anyway), however, shall I be worried about it? In case there's is something structurally wrong with the building? I would much appreciate your thoughts.

It looks like drying and settlement to me. Is also where the plasterboards join. Worse than what we had but I wouldn't be concerned

@Sunflowergirl1 thanks for your response. It's definitely reassuring and helps me sleep better Grin

We have the same. Our builder put it down to central heating drying the plaster out. If the crack is also on the other side of the wall you have an issue. Otherwise, it's 99% likely to be cosmetic.

@DerAlteMann thanks very much for responding! Thankfully it is just one side that has the cracks. So hopefully it is all just down to plaster rather than anything else. Hope you managed to get your cracks sorted ok Smile
