Say lumos to your phone and it will activate the light

Activate Siri on iPhone first. Not sure about android

I just said lumos to Alexa and she told me i light up the room already :-) I loves Alexa

It works for me, I usually just say ‘torch on’ or ‘torch off’ but this is a bit quicker so might use it if I remember.

Can I ask what ‘lumos’ and ‘nox’ come from? I assume they just have some meaning for iPhone to programme them to do this?

I just did it with my android. Pressed the mic and she did it. She spelt "nox" "knox"

On the subject, does Siri insist on calling the torch flashlight for anyone else? I’ll say, ‘Hey Siri, turn on torch’ and he’ll reply, ‘okay, flashlight is on.’ I always think it comes across so passive aggressive 😂

Alexa can be a real darling except when suddenly she just ups and tells me some nonsense for no reason.

Same here. I'm a Potter virgin and will probably remain so.

I've also just seen on Tik Tok that if you say Accio 'name of app' it opens the app up, just tried it and it works

I'm in forrin so i tried the accent, no dice

I can get lumos to work but not nox. Tried lumos off any that didn't work either.

I have to say "hey Siri, Nox" to turn it off, but can just say Lumos to turn it on. Maybe try that?

Sorry I should have been clearer, he says torch for me probably 90% of the time but then every now and again he will just passively aggressively throw in flashlight!
