Feet changed during lockdown?

Two pairs of boots I used to love wearing have given me blisters on my little toes.

I’ve just looked at my feet and my toes look more spaced out?

I work from home, in the summer I live in sandals and actually it’s a few days between putting proper shoes on.

Do feet change at thirty, or am I loosing my mind, or are my feet changing into their natural state?

Interesting you should say this, i mentioned to my husband the other day. I’ve been a shoe size 6 since I was 11 years old, yet last couple of shoes / boots I’ve bought I’ve had to get a 7! I said I’m sure my feet have either grown or got wider.

My feet are much softer, not wearing shoes very much. I think they get sore until they toughen up again.

Mine are wider I think!

Yes, if you haven’t been wearing structured shoes, your feet tend to get broader as your ligaments stretch etc. It’s very typical if you wear flip flops all the time in summer

Yep - mine have definitely changed from a 6 to a 7, which I think is from wearing boots hardly at all/much less often than before lockdown.

me too.

I lived inslippers & trainers wfh.
thd first day in office with 'normal' shoes was ouch ouch ouch.

It'll be your feet retuning to a more natural shape, with wider spread toes and stronger muscles. Mine have done this gradually since I started wearing 'barefoot'style shoes a few years ago.
Most shoes are not foot shaped, so your foot is forced to become 'shoe shaped' with bunions, etc.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 04/01/2022 14:32

Yes, my already wide feet got wider during lockdown and pushing my feet into pre-lockdown shoes gave me cramps. So I now wear men's shoes and boots.

Interestingly I think my feet have ‘shrunk’ as I only wear shoes that support my arches now due to plantar fasciitis. Gone from a 7 to 6.5. It is definitely a thing.

This.

I switched to wearing exclusively barefoot/minimal shoes a couple of years ago, and couldn't got back to "normal" shoes with their unnatural toe shapes now!
