Mum,tell me your story...and My Memories of you

I've just purchased these

Mum,tell me your story...I thought I would spend some time writing down my memories from childhood through to adulthood. Things that my children don't really know or care about, but maybe will be curious about when i'm older or when I've died.

this book appears to have a few prompts etc but I was wondering if anyone has done similar?

and the other book I bought was My memories of you....to give to my daughter on her wedding day but will need to do one for all my children, bit of a project! This is little memories, again with prompts. I suppose a bit like the traditional milestone baby books but lots of scope to expand on detail and of course run on through to their adulthood. I have to admit a lot of their childhood is a blur so will have to dig deep, go through photo albums etc to remember more detail.

wish I had been a diary person now! I wish i had more of my own mum to remember and knew more about her early life's i'm hoping these will be appreciated. Has anyone done similar? thoughts? ideas?

the books were cheap off amazon, different variations,I'm not promoting anything!

I created an email address for each of my children when they were born. Now and again I will send them an email recounting something they've said or done that day that I want to remember / think they will enjoy hearing about when older. Hoping the email addresses don't magically disappear from the Internet over the next few years!

I bought one for my Mum to fill out for me. I don't think she ever did. Haha.
I will be doing one for my two daughters though.

@catmg so organised!! i'm a bit worried I won't remember as much as I hope. She was quite a challenging child at times and whilst we laugh a bit about it but I do want to be honest about being her mother....she plans a family in next few years so she will see for herself

Not really the same but I have always had my photos printed out, whether they're quick phone snaps or the more posed photos taken with my big camera where I've thought more carefully about them. I just use that FreePrints app and then put them into an album and write a note next to each print about who is in it, where and when it was taken and what they were doing. They're not all happy, smiley photos either; some are of us when we were tired or whatever. We now have 9 albums from when dc1 was a baby and my dc love looking through them, reading the captions and talking about the memories they bring back.
