To rave to you about delicious, no added sugar chocolate?!

I know a lot of people want to eat healthy now that but may struggle to give up chocolate. Something that’s made this easier for me is these two brands of chocolate, Guylian (sold in Waitrose) and Chocologic (sold in Tesco).

They’re sweetened with stevia and erythritol, which are sugar free sweeteners that don’t have any calories or effect on blood sugar. So the only (limited) sugar in these bars is naturally occurring sugar from the cocoa, milk powder etc.

They taste just like normal chocolate - Chocologic is sweeter than Guylian, but Guylian is smoother and I think creamier. The 84% Guylian should give you the health benefits of chocolate as dark as that, but because of the added sugar it’s sweeter (and imo more enjoyable!) than other 85% chocolate brands like green and blacks.

The only downsides: some people have digestive upset/bloating/gas after having too much erythritol, so start off with a small amount and see how you feel.
If you melt the chocolate in the microwave you might taste a liiiiittle bit if erythritol’s cooling aftertaste. But I still enjoy these melted!!

The pic I’ve attached is Chocologic milk and dark as I’ve not opened a new Guylian bar yet. The others are just pics from online so you know what they look like. Happy eating! 🍫

Can't you just pay for an ad like everyone else? 😁

This isn't an ad. If it was then why would I be advertising two different brands? I've struggled to give up chocolate and thought it might help other people who are struggling too.

The problem with both of these is that they are so sweet and addictive(for me) its impossible to have just a bit, i stopped buying them as once i started i needed to eat all of itGrin

I find, that for me, replacing milk chocolate with dark chocolate (70%+) works better. It's naturally lower in sugar, still gives me a chocolate hit and I naturally limit how much I eat. I can eat a whole bar of dairy milk, whereas two squares of dark chocolate satisfies me. I've tried the chocologic - it tastes nice, but I had the same willpower issues as with dairy milk.

@FLOWER1983 @NannyR I totally get what you mean! At least its low in sugar lol. I try to have the chocolate with hazelnuts or almonds - it tastes better, provides healthy fat and (theoretically?) fills me up more. Then I try to just stop because even healthy chocolate needs to be limited unfortunately!
