Nice ideas for a 10 year olds birthday in Jan?

My daughter turns 10 end of Jan and wants to do something with friends. We can’t do much at home due to building works. It can’t be too expensive either. She’s ruled out afternoon tea at the local cafe and bowling. We can’t do a sleepover due to building works. She fancies a trampoline park but it’s sooo expensive. I’ve suggested the cinema and McDonald’s but not keen. Any ideas I haven’t thought of?

Ice Skating? Cheaper than trampoline park.
Or roller skating

Laser quest. Swimming. Winter bbq?

Try groupon for the trampoline park

We moved our dcs party to June, like the queen. So now we just have 2 friends round for tea in early Jan and something better in warmer weather when there's way more going on.

ChimChimeny · 03/01/2022 17:34

Could you just take her and one friend trampolining? And lunch afterwards (pizza hut or.similar)

DH has suggested a paint a pot place

Have you checked the price of trampoline parks? I've just booked a party for 10 kids for dd2's 9th at the start of Feb for £180 which I thought was quite good considering they include food and party bags.

If you need something cheaper, are your dc the sort that would enjoy a outdoorsy party? For dd1's 10th birthday we had an outdoor party with a couple of friends (back in the days of the rule of 6) where they did a treasure hunt, lit a campfire and made toast and smores, glass painted some candle holders under a gazebo and then slept in a tent in the garden. I appreciate sleeping out probably isn't appropriate for Jan though!

Is there no way you could do something small in the house if you just used one room away from the building works and moved the furniture round a bit?

We did bowling for my son’s 10th birthday. Much cheaper than a trampoline path and everyone really enjoyed it!

Trampoline park is £200 which is too much really with fuel and I don’t think it includes food. Bowling would be perfect but she’s vetoed it along with swimming. Roller skating is a good idea but not sure if we’d have enough adults - I know my own daughter would struggle with it. Thanks for the ideas though.

Pottery paining could be an idea. I will look into it.

We have done pottery painting dd took her 2 besties but that wasn’t cheap either.
We never have an actual party as we just can’t afford them, they can pick a couple of friends max and then do something like trampolining, Harry Potter studio (1 friend and main present).

I’ve done primark shopping with my girls and their friends before - they like the freedom of going round the shops you just man the exits !

CrackerGal · 03/01/2022 18:05

Is there an art place you could do an art party? That would cost around the same as cinema/macdonalds

Stompythedinosaur · 03/01/2022 18:55

Would she be happy with just taking a couple of friends trampolining rather than a full scale party? That would be cheaper.
