Do you have a hobby?

I don't have a hobby and I feel like doing something just for me, just for the enjoyment could be a nice thing to try, but I have no idea what. What hobbies do you or people you know have?
Thanks!

Knitting mainly and sewing. Also painting minutia tea as everyone else in the family are into warhammer and actually it’s quite enjoyable.

Whitepaperroses · 01/01/2022 19:04

I'm learning how to paint watercolour florals from YouTube.

SamMil · 01/01/2022 19:07

Horse riding, photography and running.

PickAChew · 01/01/2022 19:09

I knit and sew.

PlanktonsComputerWife · 01/01/2022 19:10

Reading, gardening, sewing, cryptography and learning trivia.

Lostmyway86 · 01/01/2022 19:19

Running, swimming, cycling, reading. Plus HIIT and cooking since starting the Joe Wicks plan. Interested in politics but wouldn't say it's a hobby as such.

Photography!

I fancy joining a choir. No idea how to go about it and not sure I even have time to fit it in but I love to sing and I love choirs.

Janedoe82 · 01/01/2022 20:18

Also horse ride once a week in a group class. Lots of fun and you have to switch off and just focus on the class or you might fall off lol

Basilandparsleyandmint · 01/01/2022 20:26

If you like swimming try wild swimming - very inclusive and positive minded people and paddle boarding is also awesome!

I used to be a Cub leader, but I gave that up recently.

I read, go to clubbercise and rock choir but definitely need more.

A580Hojas · 01/01/2022 20:31

Yes. I'm learning a musical instrument. I have 1 zoom lesson per week and then practice about 30 to 45 minutes per day on all the other days. It's a solitary hobby but gives me joy.

devildeepbluesea · 01/01/2022 20:33

I make jewellery by weaving beads.
I do Super Hanjie puzzles.
I lift weights.
I got myself an exercise qualification and now teach a specific, combat based class. Not for money, just for fun for my mates (started over zoom during lockdown, and have continued in that format because it's so damn convenient).
I've finally got myself a good quality keyboard and am re-learning the piano. I was Grade 8 30 years ago....nowadays I'm back down around Grade 4 but it's fun...

Indoctro · 01/01/2022 20:34

Running

YesILikeItToo · 01/01/2022 20:38

Orienteering is a good hobby, either just for yourself to get the experience of ‘flow’ that we all want from a hobby, or also for meeting people if that’s what you want. A very solitary, individualistic sport of puzzle-solving in the great outdoors that happens to come with a club ethos if you need it.

inmyslippers · 01/01/2022 20:39

I pole dance, too fat and old to make money from it sadly

QueenofLouisiana · 01/01/2022 20:39

@Matbest I really enjoy Body Balance classes. A combination of long covid and buggering up my back means I’m not able to cope with them at the moment, but I’d like to get back to them.

On that note, I like:
needle felting
Pilates (see comment about back)
Reading

I’m taking online knitting lessons from next week.

southernbelles · 01/01/2022 20:56

Zumba & yoga are my main ones! I also like to play video games.

wouldntmindbeingmrsw · 01/01/2022 22:50

I go to a Zumba class five times a week at the gym.
I go walking with friends twice a week.
I like eating out/ seeing friends.
And I'm a fair weather gardener.

Phos · 02/01/2022 22:31

I have singing lessons once a week. I kind of enjoy them but I’m starting to think they’re kind of pointless because I don’t DO anything with what I’m learning.

Thinking about starting weightlifting but I feel like I’m a bit late to that party, every man and his dog are doing it.

willowstar · 02/01/2022 23:38

I recently joined a community choir in my small town. I absolutely love it. There is no expectation that you can read music, everything is taught by listening to it and just picking it up. There are no solos/soloists, just a lovely vibe of people coming together to sing and create a great sound and atmosphere.

I've been researching my family tree for years.
