I wish I was asleep still. But dh is snoring away and it's impossible. Went to bed at ? o'clock, got woken up several times by shouting teens wandering up and down the street. Then I had some nightmares about shouting teens and collapsing houses and then my arthritis pain kicked in too much. So I gave up on it all.

How did your attempt at sleeping go?

@itsgettingweird

Not at 6.30! I got up, drank a large bottle of water and went to bed!
that's good!

I'm getting a bit bored of lying here now!

Tried going to bed at 10pm with earplugs in but someone nearby started the fireworks early and the earplugs were powerless against the noise. Adjoining neighbours had a party which involved a twenty minute firework display at midnight that sounded like multiple machine guns. Their guests left at around 3am. My toddler (who miraculously slept through all the explosions) woke up at 6am. There is not enough caffeine in the world.

I'm grateful I'm well past the toddler years!

Went to bed at 2am. There were 2 DC in my bed (not toddlers, bigger than that), so I slept curled up at the bottom. The cat came in from time to time to walk on me. DC2 woke me up at 8am to tell me it was the first of January. To be fair, none of this is unusual except the slightly later waking up time as DC didn't go to sleep until nearly 11 last night.

dh is finally awake. Tried to convince me he'd not slept well. I heard you snoring mate - for hours!

Woken up at6.30 by dc. I didn't drink enough last night to claim the lie in (it's Dhs turn but he doesn't drink). Currently cooking the chicken and watching DD play Minecraft.
Happy New Year!

Went to bed around 2.30 am awake at 6am. Just had a second breakfast of cheese and crackers to soak up last night Prosecco. Dh decided to sleep downstairs, think he passed out but at least I was spared the snoring. Teens won't be up till lunch after clubbing last night. I'm bored tbh, all ready took the dog out and the gym's shut!

My pets woke me up - unfortunately they didn't listen when I explained it's a holiday and I'd like a lie in. So up at 7 and fed and let them out. I did return to bed and fell asleep but at 8.30 loud meowing and one of the dogs barked. They just like us downstairs where they are running around and in and out the back door.
