BBC2 NYE party please tell me I'm not the only one....

Who has spent the last two hours going to their teen...

"doesn't Craig david look young, he looks exactly the same as when he was originally famous!! Omg I cant believe supergrass are still playing, he looks the same as I remember him. their make up artist must he good...."

Thought the bbc 1 offering was awful. Switched over and had a good old sing along with Queen and some Elton John.

it just didn't hit the mark.

It seemed to be a bit of a celebration of gay culture, but Male gay culture. DD pointed out how few women were represented. We objected to it of on grounds of it not being family friendly or particularly representative, when BBC1 really should be both on new years eve. And to quote DD "why why did Oly have to gyrate on the floor and wave his legs around for attention" GrinGrin

Yeah turned over from years and years even though he is great cos felt it didn't reflect what I BBC wanted fromnye and then loved Lily Allen and Lulu et al on Jools but then got confused by a young Craig David and Madness etc. but actually too drunk to really care.Does Ed Sheeran have no home to go to these days?

BBC1 was shyte!! Turned over to Jools in the end. The BBC is so far removed from its audience, it's untrue. I don't imagine there were many 18-25s listening so why only cater for that age group?!!

I think they have lost the actual plot.

Maybe you’re a secret fan because he hadn’t released an album since 2017 until recently. He toured til 2019, but not many UK dates so you would t have seen him. And then wasn’t seen much at all from 2019 til a few months ago. So many other artists have so much more exposure but people seem to hate Ed. Weird.

This is amazing. Me and DD spent a full 10 minutes teasing my husband after he announced that “Craig David is looking younger now than ever”. Grin

I’ve been kind and shown him this post. He’s now feeling fully justified in making his mistake!

Jools seems to have got everyone who’s done NYE on bbc1 over the years in. Smart.

Have you seen Fred Dineage on Meridian (or whatever it's called - used to be Southern TV).

When I was a kid he used to be on a programme called 'How'.

I moved away for the best part of three decades then moved back home and there he was on the telly looking exactly the same.

It was the weirdest thing. I went from childhood to middle age and Fred Dineage stayed the same.

Same. Said to DP, wow Lilly Allen hasn’t aged a bit 🤣 I don’t think it was obvious at first OP, I eventually saw the big 2008 in glitter to the side though!

I want a Clive Anderson review of the year back!! (It was always surprising what you'd forgotten about the year - even a dodgy one like 2021 I bet!)

I think the issue is he just invites his mates along so you get Gregory Porter, Rag n Bone man, Ed Sheehan, a few of the same female soul singers. I mean it’s his show, but I agree, some different acts, a bit more up tempo. There’s really space for a different sort of show on New Years Eve now I think, something more quirky and upbeat 😊

Yes! It was slightly before my time and whilst on my radar I was bit young. I should have googled i new it was either Bo Selecta or Ali G and I knew i would pick the wrong one
