What new craft shall I try in 2022?

I fancy something new to learn, on a small ish budget though.

My dad's likely to give me some money for my birthday in a few days so I'll probably use that. If not, I have £20 Christmas money to spend.

Any ideas?

I already sew (with a machine), have done cross stitch, enjoy crochet, have tried iris folding. There are probably others I've forgotten! I need ideas...

Definitely try needlefelting.

Also browse the "Twenty To Make" books for ideas of crafts to try.

Polymer clay can be fun also

@FaoinDrualus

That is stunning!!

I enjoy collage. I go back to a class mainly because it's great fun socially 😆 but it's virtually a free craft and the results can be stunning

Wet felting is very relaxing. Needle felting is also good but I find it less absorbing.

Another one for diamond painting although it involves no skill and nothing useful is produced!

Sugarcraft! Sugar roses are such fun to make!

Ooh, lots of ideas, thank you for all the suggestions. Some of them I'll have to google!

I've tried diamond painting in the past, but only the once because I couldn't decide what to do with the picture so it lives at the back of one of my folders. & I've dabbled in sugarcraft for birthday cakes but never really anything complex so do have some tools for that.

I like
Hand embroidery. Nicer than cross stitch

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 01/01/2022 14:25

Buy a copy of Love Embroidery magazine. It's the cheapest introduction to hand embroidery you can get.

Haus1234 · 01/01/2022 14:32

Linocutting/printing is a bit messy but the results are great, and has an easy extension to card making.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/01/2022 14:45

Card making - so many different approaches and you can incorporate other craft types too,eg a little bit of embroidery
Plus you end up with a practical end product
