How do I find out what is causing my belly to bloat?

GP? Will they fob me off like they normally do?
Gynaecologist?
Blood tests?
Food diary?

It’s so frustrating and tedious.

For me, it was Dorset Cereals. Huge change when I switched to sourdough toast instead.

Look up FODMAPs

There’s something in your diet that is fermenting in your stomach & releasing gas. It could be wheat (so switching to pre-fermented wheat, ie sourdough instead of regular bread) or it could be onions/garlic, apples/pears/peas, beans are a common culprit.

Are you vegetarian or vegan?

How bad is the bloating and how often does it happen? How about talking to a nutritionist?

I suspect wheat sensitivity. But I have been low carbing for nearly a week with no intake of wheat. I also suspect I may have endometriosis. I do eat meat.

Maybe it’s just mostly belly fat? Confused

Please see a GP. It is unlikely, but bloating can be a symptom of ovarian cancer.

These are also all symptoms of GERD.

Do you have pain in your upper abdomen when bloated?

Almost2022 yes a little bloating on upper part but mostly lower - I look pregnant

This is not great advice. See a nutritional therapist by all means once other medical conditions have been ruled out, which hopefully they will be. But do not bypass seeing your GP in the first instance.

I just think my GP will say ‘lose weight, eat better’ or try the FOADMAP diet. I don’t think a GP would run any tests for some bloating alone?
