Cookbook for 10 year old nephew

My nephew is 10 and has an interest in cooking. I would like to get him a good fun cookbook but have no idea where to start!

The Junior Masterchef book seems a bit too old and challenging for him (perhaps in a couple of years it will be perfect) but other childrens cookbooks seem to be a bit too young.

Any recommendations would be gratefully received! To give an idea of his ability/likes: He can make his mum eggs and bacon, he loves chocolate and cakes and also adores making pizzas and spaghetti with meatballs. TIA!

What about Nadiya Hussein’s Bake Me A Story?
Or the book from the I Can Cook series, though that might be rather too young.

My DCs liked Roald Dahl's Revolting Recipes at that age, looks like you'd have to get a pre-owned version from eBay now though.

My ten year has Jamie Oliver 5 ingredients. It’s pretty simple, but “real” food. I can’t bear those “kids” cookbooks full of “Kids” food.

There are several Dorling Kindersley cookery books for children. They're really good; informative, step by step and lots of helpful pictures.

Student cook books are a good start for a lot of the basics

I second this, my 11 year old loves the Jamie Oliver books and also enjoys watching him on TV.

I would actually buy a good adult book as he's 10. If he likes cooking then the Hairy Bikers One Pot meals is very straightforward to follow and if he likes to bake then this is excellent, bullet proof recipes - we've made lots from this and they always work. www.amazon.co.uk/Great-British-Book-Baking-best-loved/dp/0718157117/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=6WMUNGJ8GZAR&keywords=the+great+british+book+of+baking&sprefix=the+great+British+book%2Caps%2C81&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1640902114&sr=8-1

Sam Stern's books are brilliant, I think he wrote the first one at age 14.

Thanks all. I have gone for a DK book as recommended by Campion - I hope he likes it! I think he is still young enough that he will respond better to this than the adult books but they are great recommendations for the future.

My DS has the DK book as well, he does enjoy it. I’m sure your nephew will like it!
