Stuck in a rut and want to explore greek family food that isn't too difficult to make. What Greek foods do your dc like?

Lol sometimes I stick then in the toaster or pan for a few minutes, you want them warm so they're "rollable" 😁

Thank you :)

Don't forget keftedes, Greek meatballs. Fabulous in a tomato puree with oregano.

I love Greek pizza, with tomato, green pepper, red onion, olives and feta with a little drizzle of olive oil on top. We found plenty places would put these ingredients in pancakes and omelettes as well, it works very well.

Souvlaki, gyros, village sausage and halloumi are liked by my fussy DS. DH and I love most of it and occasionally have M&S's moussaka, it's very good. (Not as good as the Greeks make it, but what can you do, it's too long a commute)

We always do mezze style meals; flatbreads, dips (tzatziki and hummus) stuffed peepers, olives, meat skewers -get a souvlaki herb mix- Greek salads.

I'm hungry now.

I make loads of Greek meals for my children.

They love: fasolakia (green beans in tomato sauce), stifafo (for ease I use beef instead of rabbit), pastichio, chicken with orzo in the oven, spinach and feta pie, soutzoukakia. And so much more.

I use recipes by Akis Petretzikis. Everything on his site has the recipes in Greek and English. I made some of his Christmas recipes too and they were absolutely delicious.

@Bundlebuns

The feta and halloumi pie looks amazing! What do you serve it with?

I do runner beans, or pan fried courgette with mint, lemon and crumbed feta on top. Delish! Sweet potato wedges or regular wedges are also a good addition!
