hi guys - before you shoot me down with negataive comments i am fully aware of all risks involved.

hear for advice of those who have possibly continued like i am....

i have been seeing a consultant each week and yes its risky, but seeing my baby grow each week a termination has not been possible for me do. baby is healthy be a little smaller (this was the case throughout my last pregnancy)

my next scan is next week and ill be 11w6d

so far it has gone smoothly... ie no bleeding or pain and i am remaining positive. even with a termination now it could end in a hysterectomy.... si see it this way as long as they are aware and i am being checked weekly/2 weekly then there is every possibilty i can make it.

it really is crazy time and you may think im mad but there is a reason why previously i had 2 MC and never saw a heartbeat this time i have an i am going to make this and have a healthy baby.

send me positive vibes please and i am happy for peoples opinions but please be kind

I don't understand what your asking?

Your pregnant and unsure whether to keep the baby or you have some kind of complications?

Thissucksmonkeynuts · 29/12/2021 17:18

You need to make it clear what is happening. Is your placenta partially growing through the scar of a previous c section? It sounds like yare in a really tough situation.

Gemini0214 · 29/12/2021 17:18

if anyone has been through the same thing. its very rare but i wanted to reach out to anyone else who is or has been through this.

Can you clarify what has happened? Why will you need a hysterectomy?

I hope all goes well for you and your baby.

Been through what though?
satci · 29/12/2021 17:22

Being pregnant is rare?

satci · 29/12/2021 17:23

Sorry to read about your risks but you haven't really told us what is wrong.

ffscovid · 29/12/2021 17:23

Do you mean that you've got placenta accreta through a previous c-section scar? If so, I'm sure you're aware of the potential risks (to your health as much as the baby's).

BananaDrama25 · 29/12/2021 17:24
Hmm
SleepingStandingUp · 29/12/2021 17:24

Op you haven't clarified what it is you're going through and why people might think you need to terminate.

You've got to have a C Sec this time or you've had one before? How many c sections have you had? Are you worried about the scar bursting because you've had lots of c sections?

dustandfluf · 29/12/2021 17:27

Do you know the real risks involved with a c section scar pregnancy OP? I'm very surprised you've opted to continue this pregnancy when it's so risky to your own life.

MickyBlueEyes · 29/12/2021 17:29

I think you’re asking if anyone has any experience of having a baby implant into an old c-section scar? I think this is called an Placenta accreta.
If this is what you’re asking then I know someone who this happened too. She had her son at 23+5. She didn’t need an hysterectomy. Her little boy is now at primary school.

Bergmum · 29/12/2021 17:30

I presume you mean a cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy. I had one almost 6 years ago. I saw Professor Davor Jurkovic who is a world leading expert on ectopic pregnancies in particular this kind.
He strongly advised a termination which I had. He said at the time that I could potentially carry to viability or upto 32 weeks but would then in all liklihood need a hysterectomy. However he said there was a strong chance of a rupture around 20 weeks where I would lose the baby as well as any chance of more children.
I saw him privately but he then performed the surgery at UCLH. The surgery in itself could be dangerous and he pioneered a technique that's now used around the world.

I have since gone on to have another two kids so from my experience I would of course advise a termination...

Bergmum · 29/12/2021 17:34

And yes it was the most difficult thing I have ever done because I saw a little heartbeat and still have the feeling of what if... But I've has another two healthy children that in all liklihood would not have been a possibility had I continued the pregnancy

Legdaysucks · 29/12/2021 17:36

Has your consultant given you any hope at all that this will be a successful pregnancy? I believe it could be very dangerous for you to continue down this path... Do you have another child or partner to think about as well? I wish you all the very best whatever you decide...

WhereismyHeathcliff · 29/12/2021 17:39

I too had this and was advised to terminate.....strong chance of maternal death.
When a consultant tells you that you listen.
I needed to be there for my existing children.
I wish you the best, but even medical journals have very few outcomes that are positive in this situation.

lifeatconnies · 19/01/2022 14:52

Any updates on this lovely? I've just been diagnosed with the same.

Gemini0214 · 19/01/2022 15:04

Hi yes all is going well. Had my 12 weeks scan and all is fine, I will be scanned again after my 20 week scan. I will prob still have the baby early but I’m glad I choose not too terminate. Hope it goes smoothly for
You x

You mention a c section, so I presume you have children at home. Keep in mind you're not only risking your life, you're gambling with a future where your existing kids grow up without a mother.

Gemini0214 · 19/01/2022 15:23

My consultant is happy, it’s intrauterine pregnancy and all is fine. But thank you for your concern.

Amazing! I'm happy it's working out for you. I'm waiting for a scan next week to see if baby is growing and is in a better place. It's worrying but reading your baby is healthy is relieving. Wishing you luck for your scan xx
Gemini0214 · 20/01/2022 08:47

Good luck to you. Hope all goes well x
