It's been worn quite a few times per week since April 21. Second pic is after i used a debobbler on it...it's not my hoody btw but my younger dds.

Until they grow out of it or its damaged beyond repair.

AZFell · 29/12/2021 12:12

I don't understand your question - what is wrong with it that makes it unwearable?

Shiningpath · 29/12/2021 12:13

No more than two more weeks or you’ll have social services on to you. Hmm

NerrSnerr · 29/12/2021 12:13

Until they've grown out of it?

Is there something wrong with it as I can't see anything wrong in the pictures.

MrsSkylerWhite · 29/12/2021 12:14

I wear hoodies that my youngest grew out of years ago. They tend to be pretty robust.

Theunamedcat · 29/12/2021 12:16

Mine last at least two children sometimes three as my friend has them after me

Unless your asking about washing?

gogohm · 29/12/2021 12:18

They tend to get bobbly after 20 or do washes in my experience, we avoid doing too much washing Blush

GiveMeMyKeys · 29/12/2021 12:20

I'm not understanding the question either. Which aspect of the hoodie would limit the number of times it can be worn?

Fuuuuuckit · 29/12/2021 12:20

I've got a GAP hoody that I bought in 2012, wear and wash it weekly, what's your point?

lucysmam · 29/12/2021 12:29

I've got dd1's cast of hoodies in my wardrobe from her year 6 residential. She's in y10 now & I'm still wearing them 🤷‍♀️

Likewise, I passed some of dd2's last child-sizes hoodies to a friend for her sons. They'd been worn by another friend's son before dd & current friend has two boys, both likely to get use out of them.

So, I'd say as many as you get out of it, until outgrown. And, then, pass it on for someone else to make use of.

faithfulbird20 · 29/12/2021 12:36

So glad people are getting a lot of wear out of their clothes even when bobbly. I just wanted to know whether it looked old or 'worn'. I know some people who would get rid of anything that looks like that and other would keep until it was rags.

I’ve got three t-shirts that are older than our eldest child (26 now). They were previously my husband’s and make nice, baggy bed attire. Expect to be wearing them for a few more years, yet.
If you’re worried about bobbles, you can by little de-bobbling gadgets.

UltraVividLament · 29/12/2021 12:48

It doesn't look old or worn even slightly.

SheWolfOFFrancee · 29/12/2021 12:52

Barely looks worn. My DC would wear until
It didn’t fit anymore or developed holes.

lucysmam · 29/12/2021 12:52

De-bobbling with a disposable type razor is very satisfying if you're fussed about bobbles! I keep one just for that purpose.

That's a great idea. Never thought of that.
CremeEggThief · 29/12/2021 12:55

You're probably asking the wrong person here, but I expect a few years out of every item of clothing, even Primark tops and pajamas, so I never really understand these threads.

Hellocatshome · 29/12/2021 12:59

It looks fine, its for a small child so doesn't really matter if its bobbly. I probably wouldn't let them wear it to a party or anything but for normal daily wear its fine until she grows out if it

I really want to do that now Grin

If it starts to look too worn to wear out and about just downgrade it.

I have stuff that is nice enough for work or social occasions, then when it is too scruffy depending upon what it is it will be used for less important stuff, going shopping or for the gym or walking. The next level down is for horsey jobs, or staying at home when not likely to get visitors, maybe car washing or gardening. Lowest level is for dirty jobs like painting, bleaching the bathroom, using permanent hair dye etc.

Once no longer wearable an item is used for scrap fabric, gets cut up for rags or weighed in for recycling.

I don't care if the jumper I wear when cleaning the oven is bobbly. I have jumpers that are decades old and still warm and useful.

TonytheDog · 29/12/2021 14:13

Surely until it's been grown out of?

eveningbubble · 29/12/2021 15:00

20 year old primark hoody still going strong!

NoSquirrels · 29/12/2021 15:06

Keeps you warm, carry on.

I mean, it’s not like a Gap hoody is for best, is it?

BogRollBOGOF · 29/12/2021 15:12

I'm still wearing 20 year old hoodies.

It takes years for DS1 then DS2 to get through clothes.
