My Dh was told to wait 60 days. My teenagers were told by gp last week 30 days.

She's right, yes.

A friend of mine was told this but she still got a text from NHS telling her to book her booster.

She did and when she got there, they wouldn't give it to her due to the fact she'd had a positive PCR 3 weeks previously.

28 days if you are an adult. Easy to find the info online here www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

WorraLiberty · 28/12/2021 11:29

Sorry, actually I've just checked on the message she sent me and it was indeed 28 days.

AlexaShutUp · 28/12/2021 11:29

It's 4 weeks for adults and 12 weeks for under 18s.

MrsMoastyToasty · 28/12/2021 11:29

It's 28 days now for adults. I had mine on 23rd December and had covid during October. Children have to wait 12 weeks.

AgeingDoc · 28/12/2021 11:30

According to the national booking website, only under 18s need to wait 3 months after a positive PCR. It's 4 weeks for over 18s.

Unfortunately the various vaccine centres are giving confusing information

The correct answer as above is that you should have your booster 28 days after a positive PCR ......but many vaccination centres have turned people away saying 3 months due to old information and the rubbish communication around covid guidelines

Sorry, attached the wrong screenshot previously.
Hopefully this is the right one!

I volunteered at a vaccine centre in round 1 & 2. One of the questions I had to ask was if the the person had had Covid in the last 28 days - as they couldn't have the vaccine if they had. As far as I know that info hasn't changed. I follow changes in Covid rules pretty closely.

mongoosebaby · 28/12/2021 11:37

Recently had my booster, they asked me if I have had COVID within 28 days. I double checked as I had covid 80 days ago, old advice was 3 months but has now changed. DH also checked when he had his at different place, they also said 28 days

AgeingDoc · 28/12/2021 11:43

The guidance is different for under 18s which is probably contributing to the confusion. I believe it's because of the slightly increased risk of myocarditis in this age group. That guidance came in about a month ago.

Kezzie200 · 28/12/2021 12:47

Whilst waiting for my booster they shouted out various rules. Had we had covid in past 28 days? No, then vaccine was fine to have.

So 28 days.

Hope you are feeling better

Kezzie200 · 28/12/2021 12:48

Ahhh we were all adults

ParkheadParadise · 28/12/2021 12:49

28 days.
