My body clock is 'out of kilter' do I just give in to it?

Insomnia (either menopause caused or maybe post covid?)

I sleep my 7/8 hours just all at the wrong time so often
10-2 then 6-11 or last night 5-10

I can nap anytime I need to, as I have CFS/FM

So I am self employed working from home, do I just go with it and set up quiet work to do at night? And ignore trying to sleep if my body is being a pain?

Disturbed circadian rhythm isn't good for health or lifespan.
I have some success with magnesium supplement taken just before bed

KatyMac · 28/12/2021 11:26

I take magnesium but only with my other supplements do you think it's worth moving it later?

I generally have magnesium in my evening bath too

Split nights/bi-phase sleeping are the human biological norm and it’s not unusual for women going through menopause to find this happens.

Well, yeah, I think so. If it doesn't work out, then re-assess.

Melatonin is meant to help I believe, worth a shot?

Opal8 · 28/12/2021 12:06

Oh I hear you!
Just bought some cbd oil to see if it helps...

KatyMac · 28/12/2021 13:12

That's interesting @NavigatingAdolescence - do you think I should just go with it for a bit?

I've tried several sleeping aids but ideally I want to avoid sleeping tablets

Are those in a gel capsule @Tickledtrout? I don't so well with capsules

Interesting I'm polyphonic and always have been!

During most of my life I naturally slept 12/1 until 8/9 then 1-2 hours at lunchtime and occasionally 2-3 hours at 6 - my diagnosis of CFS was in 1995 so it's been a while!
Menopause and semireturement/self-employment have destabilised things but I still slept 11/12 until maybe 8 with a nap late afternoon

And now I am all over the bloody place!
