Daughter wetting and soiling herself

Hi new here but I am at a loss I have 3 older children and never had this problem with them, I have twins one of each 💙♥️ they are 4 and have been out of nappies for about two years but just recently my daughter has started weeing and poohing her pants and then when I ask her why she says she doesn't know she has done it then bursts In to tears and says she's sorry. I have never shouted at her about this or punished her she is now doing it then going and changing herself, I will find pants and leggings everywhere that she has taken off I was wondering if there could be a medical reason 🤷 as she says she doesn't know she done it.She does suffer with struggling to go for a pooh but that wouldn't explain the weeing anyone gone through this or have any advice please 🤞🤞

You need to see the gp pronto, sounds like a massive impaction or something has made her very anxious

Severe constipation can cause urinary incontinence, it’s often the first thing a parent notices.

My daughter soils when she's constipated. Try the Eric helpline, amazing help for toilet problems.

Clarkey86 · 27/12/2021 22:10

I’d also be concerned about UTI or bowel issues, especially as she’s been dry and clean for so long and appears concerned about it. Bless her

DS 10 still soils himself. He doesn't feel or smell it. The school nurse gave him a story book about a boy who does the same, there's a girls' version too. One of the points raised in it is that he may have ignored the need to go in the past, so now his brain ignores it too. It's aimed at older children than your daughter but I'm sure there would be a version for younger children too. Could you ask your HV?

Have a look at the ERIC website re wetting/soiling/constipation in children.

Sunnysidegold · 27/12/2021 23:26

I came on to say possible constipation too. My younger child suffered from this soiling connected to it. I also read that if they're somimpacted it can put pressure on the bladder too. Also apparently everytime you go for a poo you will do a wee too.

Also agree with the Eric website being useful. And Google "the poo nurses UK"

DaisyDreaming · 28/12/2021 01:54

As others have said it sounds like constipation, if there is hard poo stuck inside softer poo can push around the edge and soil and the pressure caused problems with the bladder. A trip to the GP is needed and lots of reassurance for her
