NYE at home with a 7 year old

Inspire me! I'm working on NYE (NHS) and won't be home before 5.30 so no point trying to book anything last minute. Do you let your 7 year olds stay up until midnight? I've always put DS to bed but now he's getting older I'm not sure. What nice plans do you all have that I can pinch!!!

DD is 7 and she's never been interested in staying up. She goes to bed at her usual time because she wants to, and I'm not complaining!

DS is 3 and has no idea at all, but I'm planning on putting him to bed normally for as long as possible.

We don't really do New Year anyway - can't remember the last time we were awake at midnight!

I used to blow up a couple of air beds and let them sit on them in a sleeping bag in the living room. Usually fell asleep before midnight, but it did make them feel it was special.

If it is not raining we have a firepit, baked potatoes on a bbq, sparklers, a few friends outside, watch all thr neighbourhood fireworks and listen to the jollity of the nearby pub.
