Charity shop situation

I've got a lot of stuff to clear out of my parents' house. Does anyone know what the situation is with charity shops at the moment? Are they open/accepting donations/being used? I'm not in the UK so not sure and won't have much time to organise stuff if and when I come over.

And a sub-question: do people still by CDs from them? I've got an absolute ton to get rid of!

Yes, charity shops are still accepting donations. If you’re also clearing furniture, only a few do that and anything with upholstery requires the fire safety tags still on. Most don’t take old mattresses either. They also ask for photos and measurements in advance of collecting these items too with caveat that driver has final say in whether the items are collected or not. So do be surprised that you may need to pay someone to take away some old furniture if charity shop dies not want any furniture.

Yes, they do still take cds too

Yes charity shops in the UK are open and accepting donations. Pretty sure they take most stuff including CDs.
I just pack stuff in a box or a large bag and drop it off at the donation table. I don't hang around while they look inside 🤣🤣

They are accepting donations but it would be worth calling beforehand just to check - I know that the ones near me occasionally get overwhelmed with donations and run out of storage space and they ask you to bring the donations back the following week, so it might save you a wasted trip.
