Do you ever want to turn back time and go back to your best friend's house?

I was always qt my best friend's house. Watching Friends, staying over, chatting, ws accepted as an extra member of the family. I have so many lovely memories in their house.

I'm very nostalgic any best friend said come back any time. Tempted to jump on the next train but it won't be the same will it? I was angst ridden as a teen, wannabe Dawsons Creek character. The reality won't be what I imagine. I'm 37. Miss my yoof.

It's not just you! I get so nostalgic about my old school friends, excessively so. I'm in my 30s too. I think of them very often and get sad that it's not possible to recreate that simple little life! You're right, it wouldn't be the same even if we did get together again. I've always loved that quote that goes something like "the best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do". I don't really feel like I've changed in 15-20 years, while everyone has moved on. My sister thinks I'm really weird for remembering so many details about our school days. I remember it all! But ask me what I did last week and I couldn't tell you!

My BF's dad sold their original family house when I was 47 and not only did I go to their farewell garden party, act like a teen complete with puking in the downstairs loo and staying over in BF's old bed, I cried like an absolute baby.

I miss the times in that house so much.

And, dear MNers, if yours is the house where the slightly displaced teens gather, eat you out of house and home, get under your feet and commandeer the telly - thank you. You will never be forgotten. Thanks

I'd love that. My best friend from my teens is no longer with us and her family home was sold last year, I spent such a lot of time there in my teens, I really do miss it. I still remember the smell of it. Her mum loved trinkets, lamps and doilies, it was so cosy. The chip pan was always on, when we were older we'd be welcomed home after a night out with a proper chip butty. It was also the house where I first kissed my now husband. Such lovely, happy memories.
