I've just filed for divorce!

I don't want to be married to him anymore, he has no wish to be married to me.

We were waiting until April to do the whole 'no fault' divorce, but actually the fault is all his so I've petition for unreasonable behaviour.

Feels bloody marvellous!!!!!

Congratulations. Wine

Have you told him about your change of strategy?

ILoveAnOwl · 26/12/2021 03:51

No... But then he didn't tell me when he started shagging someone else, so I guess it could be said we've both had a change of strategy 🤣

Presumably you will have been separate since April 2020 then? Was he supposed to tell you that he had a new partner or have you since found out that he’s actually been with her since before then? I think if that’s the case you need to divorce him for adultery not unreasonable behaviour.

TidyDancer · 26/12/2021 09:04

Well done OP!

ILoveAnOwl · 26/12/2021 09:05

@sweetbabycheeses99 we separated earlier this year and he has subsequently met someone else but that counts as unreasonable behaviour so going for that rather than adultery. There are many, many other counts of unreasonable behaviour also, some of which I also stated.

I would stick to it being non inflammatory so that he signs the papers and returns them, rather than being an arse and refusing.

ILoveAnOwl · 26/12/2021 09:25

@inheritancetracks I was factual. Perhaps a little too factual, but what's done is done...

What a fantastic Christmas present to yourself, here’s to a fabulous 2022 Wine

memememe · 26/12/2021 12:47

congratulations!! im about to do the same. is it easy? is there a step by step guide anywhere? how do you sort out finances etc?

ILoveAnOwl · 27/12/2021 00:32

@memememe it's ridiculous easy. Google 'filing for divorce' and the form cones up. You will need £593. You can sort finances out on a firm they provide, but that doesn't have to be done initially.

Yeeha to you ! How lovely to be on the road to freedom. Wine
