I never got one my mum thought they were too messy so I wanted one for years.
Today there was a gift from Santa with a tag saying 'sorry it took so long hope you still wanted one' told my husband in passing in the past and he remembered. So I am now the proud owner of a Mr frosty hurrah.
Just wanted to share as Im still chuffed :)

This was me 4 years ago. DD still tries to play with him but no I waited 30 years, so no-one but me touches him.

Tal45 · 25/12/2021 21:26

That is so thoughtful. I had one as a child and it was almost impossible, I think we only used it once and my mum refused after that. Mine looked different to yours though so hopefully yours is new and improved!

ISpyCobraKai · 25/12/2021 21:32

OMG, I'm so jealous, is it good?

I never got one either, or a Play Doh barber shop, so I bought myself Dd it when she was about 3, and it was shit.
Next I want the Big Yellow Teapot, I'm sure that will actually be great right?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 25/12/2021 21:32

There must have been a good marketing team behind mr frosty. Everyone wanted one, I know I did. What was so special we always wanted one?

MissMaple82 · 25/12/2021 21:33

What a lovely gift. I'd say he's a keeper! I too always really wanted a Mr Frosty and I too never ever got one! Could bever understand why Father Christmas never brought me on. Enjoy

Toddlerteaplease · 25/12/2021 21:35

I always wanted a remote control car. My friend bought me one a few years ago.
Lewis's grotto was amazing.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 25/12/2021 21:38

That's gorgeous. I bought my brother a pop-up pirate game a couple of years ago because he always wanted, and never got, one as a child. Likewise my DH bought me a dolls house when we were newly married 😍

WhatScratch · 25/12/2021 21:39

That’s lovely.

Kdubs1981 · 25/12/2021 21:41

This is so sweet. Total keeper.

BUT.

I hate to break it to you. They are UTTER shit. Almost impossibly to grind ice with them. Hurts your hand like a bastard. 🤣

ArtfulScreamer · 25/12/2021 21:42

The thought was there but I give it 3 days before your smiling politely whenever DH mentions it whilst inside thinking what a disappointing gift it is as reality really doesn't meet expectations (it's been 30 years since I got a Mr Frosty and I'm still not over how shit it was Grin)

JacquelineCarlyle · 25/12/2021 21:44

I'm another who really wanted a Mr Frosty and never got one! I also really wanted an A La Carte kitchen which I never got either!

Enjoy your Mr Frosty!

JustBkind · 25/12/2021 21:49

Ooh @JacquelineCarlyle - I bloody loved my A La Carte Kitchen!!! It was as flimsy as anything!! Thanks for reminding me!

Blaziken · 25/12/2021 21:51

I got my Mr Frosty today too!! It was exhausting to use Xmas Grin

DifficultBloodyWoman · 25/12/2021 21:52

Awwww!

That’s a two for one pressie. The first part is the Mr Frosty and the second part is knowing your DH really does love you and listen to you!

TheAntiGardener · 25/12/2021 21:54

Generational trauma is about right. I seem to remember there was a Mr Frosty support thread earlier in the year.

Yes, I’m envious!

ImInStealthMode · 25/12/2021 21:55

Amazing! Enjoy OP.

A few years ago I got one of those penguin things where they go up stairs and down a slide, having coveted one since I was about 5. Best Christmas Ever!!

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 25/12/2021 21:56

I’m well jel.

Not of your Mr Frosty.

Because you have someone who listens and loves you.

Even if you end up with an arm like popeye turning his little Frosty handle, you are winning 😊

AndSoFinally · 25/12/2021 21:57

Awww. I always wanted one but my mum wouldn't buy it as she said it would be a waste of money and wouldn't work like it did in the advert.

A couple of years ago my sister bought me an original 80s one from eBay.

30 years my mother had waited for that "I told you so"....

Pucarbuile · 25/12/2021 21:58

Oh that's lovely. Dd wanted a soda stream so she got it today. I'm still waiting on my green yacht and pink sports car though.

Same here! Wanted one since about 1985. DB and I pooled our money and got one second hand at a jumble sale. It was crap Grin. I’m glad OP’s DH listened to her though.
Starcup · 25/12/2021 22:15

Aww that’s lovely OP. He’s definitely a keeper.

On the other hand, Mr Frosty (in my experience) won’t live up to your expectations and dreams.

You’d get more fucking ice using a potato peeler, so you’ll use it once and it’ll never add the light of day!

Unless mine was faulty…. Wink

This. I was one of the children that did have one. All your mums were right. It’s rubbish.
wedonttalkaboutmyposts · 25/12/2021 22:23

Excellent, great gift!

I got my youngest screwball scramble today, I could only play it at other peoples houses when I was young. I can't wait to have a long go tomorrow!

Livpool · 25/12/2021 22:30

Amazing! I had one when I was little and it was fantastic
