Decided to start an adult games night (this may be a flash in the pan idea Grin) and need some ideas of awesome games that you can have a chat and a drink over, don’t take hours and hours (monopoly I’m looking at you!) and are fun!

We love Pandemic, Fluxx and Sequence.

One night ultimate werewolf is good fun. Love articulate. Have bought the blockbuster movie game, not tried it yet though but sounds fun.

Definitely Articulate. You play in teams of 2 or more, it's dead easy to play, fast paced, good fun, based on talking and you all guess at once, so you don't have to spend ages waiting for a go.

It works especially well if you have friends or couples who have a lot of shared experiences or just understand each other well. My ex and I could often communicate a word or phrase to each other without the rest of the room having a clue what we were on about, we were great at this!

Articulate works just as well with people who don't know each other too. It's one if those games you don't need to be good at to enjoy, taking part is fun in itself.

Easy family game is vote code names. You ideally need 6 players so it’s one that works very well at Christmas.

Check board game geek as it had a rating for how language dependent the game is, ie whether you can play it just with a set of instructions if you buy it in the wrong language. You can almost always download English instructions if your game doesn't come with them.

pandemic is brilliant but haven’t been able to play since we started living in an actual pandemic...

This year we bought Dobble and a new one called Confident, which went down very well.
