Can anyone help please? I've got this memory of maybe a girl group or a musical or something where they've all got different coloured dresses in these different bright colours, all different colour combinations. I sound like I've lost the plot don't I! I thought maybe it was a girls allowed video but it's not. Any ideas please? It might be from the 80's.

Are you sure you're not thinking of that orange but with lime green instead of purple? VERY 90s!

HipposHaveNipples · 24/12/2021 20:02

Daphne from Scooby Doo for me too!

Fifth Harmony?

@Papertrail392

Thankyou for all the great suggestion, I've googled them all but none of them fit. I'm sure it was a group and they had big petticoats and all the colours kind of mixed and matched. As a little girl I had a particular favourite and I rememberjust loving all the colours. This is going to drive me mad!

I'm wondering it it might have been a theatre show, maybe a pantomime but I don't think it was. I'm sure it was something on TV that I watched a few times.

Saturdays/Beyonce would have been too late. I think it's more late 80's/ early 90's.

This sounds ridiculous but it wasn't the Pink Windmill kids from Rod Hull and Emu, was it?

They immediately sprang to mind when I read your description.

Yeah I thought of Crazy in Love straight away

It’s Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s dead cat walk at the end

I thought Nicky from big brother?

Papertrail392 · 24/12/2021 20:35

No, none of the above. Definitely a group, dancing, some of the colours we're green and yellow, all that same bright pop. Not the pink wind mill kids (loved that programme!).

I'm hoping that maybe when I stop trying so hard to think of it it'll come to me. Maybe if I sleep on it.

Thanks for all the ideas.

This is really driving me mad! I think it must have been a stage show, we went to the theatre quite a lot as kids. Just can't place it though!

Dee Lite?

Botanica · 24/12/2021 20:39

Made me think of the girl group Fuzzbox who sang Pink Pink Sunshine

myrtleWilson · 24/12/2021 20:39

The petticoats could have been Because we Can from Moulin Rouge?

Botanica · 24/12/2021 20:43

Or the fictional group Jen & the Holograms

Buck’s Fizz, make your mind up. There were two men and two women, wearing quite modest bright primary coloured outfits, partway through the song the men grab the girl’s clothes and pull them away to reveal much less modest matching outfits beneath. The clip was repeated constantly throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Mr Kiplings French Fancies?

Botanica · 24/12/2021 20:44

Or maybe one of the performances on one of the musical theatre audition shows where they all had their own colours each week?

Not sure OP, it looks familiar to me as general nickelodeon type colours.

Did you used to watch the original Come Dancing on BBC1? Used to be lots of big, colourful frothy frocks on that.

pictish · 24/12/2021 20:48

Groove is in the Heart.

Sammysquiz · 24/12/2021 20:51

Girls Aloud had a video where they were all in big petticoats. Is it Biology? Or the one about speaking French?!
