I'm so curious! Like how do you get involved? And do you see everyone's emails and names? Quite a job I must say.

I would guess someone not like you OP.

But in answer to your question, many people, like any other business of uts size.

What a sassy first reply!

Lots of different people have different roles. I once was at a dinner with someone who manages the affiliate side of Mumsnet. Or was one of the people who manage it. I don’t know how big the team is.

EinsteinaGogo · 24/12/2021 19:32

Have a look on Companies House, OP.

You can see Mumsnet directors, revenue, profit etc (as you can for all registered companies).

🤣 why though?

I dont know how forums work. Yes I'm clearly ignorant.

I meant in terms of the moderaters.

But it's clearly not just a forum is it? MN has all the advice pages, and the blog pages, and the reviews and the rest of it. There will be a whole team running it, from programmers and server bods to people selling advertising space and accountants.

Interestingly I found out a couple of years ago that one of the Mods attended the same grammar school as my DDs? She's several years older than them though.

As in she was a young person or a teacher?

I think you’d have to wait for a job to come up and apply for it like any other business.
Not sure why you’d want to see everyone’s names and emails though.

You would apply for the job like any other. And then you would be expected to act in a professional way like any other job, which would include keeping personal data that you see confidential. Confused
WaltzingBetty · 25/12/2021 10:24

Names/emails and any other personal data will need to be securely stored under GDPR
It's not like every member of MNHQ staff will be able just to trawl through

Calyx72 · 25/12/2021 10:28

Stating you're 'so curious' and mentioning seeing names and email addresses would be a huge red flag to me if I were hiring Mumsnet staff 😄

(I don't know why but I wonder where you stand on gender vs sex issues)

MirthlessChuckle · 25/12/2021 10:31

Hopefully they got better at data protection after the intern and hacking incidents. I re registered with a fake name and email after one of those, as well as name changing quite frequently.

I doubt any sane person would mention that in an interview.Grin

I'm sure all some of the moderators and other staff of forums such as this are quite curious in the same way - they're all humans, after all. The key is to behave professionally and ethically despite it. And never talk about it.
