Not a thread for humble bragging!

A friend of mine is very religious and spends her Xmas day lunch with her children and family at the local church hall with the rest ofnthe congregation. She's just put out an invite for anyone who will be alone on Xmas to join, religious or not.

Someone on my local Facebook page was complaining that tesco have run out of Xmas cake (on Xmas eveHmm) and someone has posted to say they have loads made, would the person like one that's spare of theirs.

In the interest of the festive spirit, will you share anything that's made you think "how lovely and selfless" recently?

I had someone so selfless on Monday, so long story short my son is on prescription milk doctors been prescribing wrong one for last 7 weeks since he been on it, found out managed to get one tin of the correct milk on Friday, doctors wouldn't prescribe any more automatically my oh put a plea on Facebook to see if anyone had some spare as well had run out!! A lovely couple went to pharmacy argued with them so they could pay for a tub and dropped it round to him whilst I was sorting out his prescription

My dad died yesterday & our friends have given mum a nearly new microwave so she can cook for herself.

The little cafe in our village is opening tomorrow and serving Xmas lunch to roughly 20 people who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day. I think this is so incredibly kind.

Our village hall has volunteers making Christmas lunch for anyone alone or lonely. Think they are the same volunteers who did the vulnerables' shopping during isolation. Some people are just nice x

When she heard we had covid my sister did a 2 hour round trip to bring us dinner for tonight and loads of treats for tomorrow. She's so kind, it meant a lot to be cared for like that.

I had a homemade cake left on the doorstep this morning. A local group make them and try to send them to all that have lost loved ones this year.

Two years in a row someone, who I barely know, has brought me a home-made lemon meringue pie for Christmas, just because I once mentioned to her that my grandma used to make it and I miss it.

Gives me hope. Smile

Not Christmas related but a while ago now a couple rented a fully furnished house to me despite they fact I wasn't working and was a LP to two tiny dc. The rental market was very competitive and on paper I was a very dodgy tennant.
They held on until I'd viewed it and offered it to me before anyone else. Two years later when I'd got back on my feet and was moving on they offered me any of the furniture in the house I wanted to take with me.
Still think of them fondly and the time I spent there with my dcs.
