Hi me and my partner are having lamb for Christmas dinner tomorrow. Should we put it in the oven now and slow cook it then reheat tomorrow? How do we do this ?
Thank you

Just cook it tomorrow. Unless its a whole sheep it will cook in a couple of hours anyway

Maybe not helpful but my favourite way is butterfly, flatten and grill or bbq for 40 minutes…do it on the day.

I’d also slow cook in oven on day if bone in and leave to rest for up to an hour.

But yes it does reheat, Especially if you’ve cooked in liquid.

I cook leg of lamb until it falls off the bone, not a fan of it pink. So that would be 6 hours ish in the slow cooker with about a cup of vegetable stock (which makes lovely gravy to have with) Then take it out and roast it off in the oven.

Hey we checked online/saw on another thread which I can't find now but they were saying to slow cook it takes 8 hours at like 100degrees which is why I thought we'd do it today

We don't have a slow cooker so would be in the oven

That's perfect, tbh I like it better done in the oven. Slow cook at a low number, covered, with stock. Then you could roast it off tomorrow.

Oven at 180.

Take lamb out of fridge half an hour before cooking

Salt and pepper on the lamb , loosely cover with foil and cook for first hour then take off and finish cooking.

Yum.

It's pretty fool proof.

Will be a couple of hours depending on weight. That's pretty well done , we don't like it pink.

It depends when you plan to get up and when you plan to eat. If you’re up at the crack of dawn and eating in the afternoon I would put it in the oven first thing at about 120 and leave it. Prepare it tonight, so it’s ready to go straight in. I usually put it in at 200 and immediately turn it down to 120. That’s if you want it falling apart; if you want it masterchef pink it won’t take long at all.
