Where do you buy (cheap) books for children?

I don't know where to get kids' books except for the typical places like Waterstones, Foyles or Amazon. But that can get expensive if you want to buy books regularly/for multiple children. My local charity shop has very limited options. Any advice?

Can you go to a town with more/bigger charity shops? I sometimes visit the large amount of charity shops in a town a few miles from us and have bought my DC many many books in excellent condition, often unread.

My toddler is not yet 3 and already has about 50 books, when I add up the cost it makes me wince! I recommend you find a good charity shop. 50p a book round here @1concernedmummy

I have a book out for pre-sale and could do a deal on multiple copies? It is a light-hearted tale about a Gran who is chasing her pants across the countryside with her granddaughter Mia. Very well illustrated and a fun-filled story for younger children.
