Those with tinnitus - how many 'sounds' do you have?

Others who suffer from this seem to only have one 'sound' to deal with. I have about 4 and developed a new one over the last few days. I wish it would stop moving the goalposts. I was starting to adjust and 'live with it', now it's just horrendous all over again.

Are you saying the weight loss came first or after the tinnitus? I’d love to get thin as compensation for the noises !

High pitched whine like tuning in a radio. Constant. Has been decades now but I just thank god it isn't any worse so far. I never hear phones ringing on TV/ films; the sound must be at exactly my tinnitus wavelength.

@optimistic40

I used to have it, and it switched between some higher pitched sounds and lower. And one ear and the other. I had acupuncture for it and it went away after one session! It got really bad the night of the acupuncture, but I awoke to no tinnitus!
luckily said that to the doctor who said, 'you don't get tinnitus in one ear'

Wait what? I've had tinnitus in my left year for 20 years. Only the left.

You might be referred to ENT for one-sided tinnitus, just to check there’s not anything else going on. But if you’ve had it for twenty years seems v v unlikely.

Constant - multi-tonal ring in one ear, high pitched
Frequent - same ring in both ears
Frequent - high pitched hissing, to keep the ringing company
Occasional - loud, insistent whine, like a siren
Rare - thuds & thumps.

Damn this thread, you've made me pay attention to it now and I'll have to get myself all zen again! Very interesting to read others' experiences, though.

Never been offered any treatment.
