Shared Christmas gift for kids

Like so many others, I’ve not been able to see my beautiful nieces and nephews for almost 2 years now, keeping my distance to try and keep them safe.

As they live some distance away, I’d like to order them a gift to share, something that they can enjoy together - and I’m looking for suggestions!

Budget is probably £50-100, something I can order from Amazon Prime to be sure it will be there in time would be ideal. There’s one boy (6) who has ASD and 3 girls (5, 4, 3).

Any ideas greatly appreciated, as I’m having a mind blank moment! 🤷‍♂️😂

Thanks!

Big marble run?

Chr1stmasCarole · 20/12/2021 17:41

Some sort of role play piece? A shop or a play kitchen?
Or how about a Toniebox?

Mandy63l · 20/12/2021 18:10

Ah, thanks!

I think they’ve got or had all of the roleplay stuff, but the others are great ideas I wouldn’t have thought of. 😊

Some kind of play tent?

SleepingStandingUp · 20/12/2021 18:14

Lego?

I do think it's a hard range to cover well tbh. What about a family pass somewhere?

Legoisthebest · 20/12/2021 18:16

Personally I think something that a 6 year old boy is going to enjoy is going to be very different from what a 3 year old girl would like.
What do their parents think? Have you asked them?

Slide for the garden.

themerrywifeofwindsor · 20/12/2021 18:19

Walkie talkies?

Legoisthebest · 20/12/2021 18:21

Actually I changed my mind - boy of 6 and girl of 3 (plus the two in the middle) would probably enjoy a pile of Hot Wheels cars that they can whizz up and down the hall. Pack of 5 each. Sorted.

Tickets to a local zoo or attraction like Lego land?
Play house for the garden?

Chronicallymothering · 20/12/2021 18:25

How about a playtray for sensory play, with some play doh/ kinetic sand/ aquabeads and some scoops. Suits all ages- easy to clean up/ contain mess.

RedCandyApple · 20/12/2021 18:29

Board games? I have a 7 year old and 4 year old so not exactly the same but they definitely would enjoy the same things and often play with toys together

frogsbreath · 20/12/2021 18:42

Trampoline for the garden? Swing?

Rexthesnail · 20/12/2021 19:01

I've bought a joint present for ages 11,9 and 4. And I bought them a candyfloss machine!

itwasntaparty · 20/12/2021 21:28

A day out somewhere nearby.

Lockdowndramaqueen · 20/12/2021 23:24

Den making kit or indoor tent they can play in - kids only.

Agree with PPs that Lego could be a good one but may be a less universal hit right now.

ghettihead · 20/12/2021 23:34

Indoor den kit. The best thing Ive bought.
Played with from age 3 and still going at 11.

Stompythedinosaur · 21/12/2021 01:02

Melissa and Doug magic set.
Playmobil farm.
Kinetic sand

minipie · 21/12/2021 01:06

Thebathneedscleaned · 21/12/2021 01:09

Wobble board
capikooa.com/capikooa-balance-board-adventurer.html

Mine had this

Fat Brain Teeter Popper Green, Wobble Balance Board, Balance Board with Popping Sounds, Kids Preschool Toy, Popping Board, Gross Motor Skills Development, Balance Board for Kids aged 3 years + www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00L53GVKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_DJDZ6KNB0E5MP079SARV?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21
It’s only £35 but they’ve played with it for years.

Puddletown · 21/12/2021 22:46

Chocolate fountain
Swingball
Masses of playdoh and the 'machines' - sweet maker one is great if they still sell it.
Magnatiles - expensive but brilliant
Twister

I recently gifted my twins nephew this board, www.familyoffive.co.uk/products/wooden-balance-board and they really enjoy playing with it, Around 5 years of age and they feel good.

Other than that, you can get a pikler triangle that should do good as well.

Both products are easily available on Amazon. Try to gift these and then share your experience here, would love to listen how kids reacted to that gift :)
