Just booked the cinema and it flashed up bring proof of vaccination/passport etc. Do I just go onto the NHS site and print off?

I just take our little vaccine cards, put them all in a clear lanyard pocket I had laying around from a conference and show that.

SortCode · 20/12/2021 09:40

Ummm I think they will want more than the vaccine cards

You can show it on your phone. I wouldn't rely on a card

Fallagain · 20/12/2021 09:41

They vaccine cards aren’t official proof. You either need the printed pdf from the app or you can just show the QR code on your app.

MoirasWigStand · 20/12/2021 09:42

Download the app on your phone. Then you have the pass with QR codes. They will simply glance at them. No where I’ve been has taken much notice real-time

Alwayswonderedwhy · 20/12/2021 09:44

No need to print it just show them you're actual pass on your phone.

I've got it on my phone but have been to the theatre a few times recently and at all of them the vaccine cards were accepted as well.

sociallydistained · 20/12/2021 09:45

I went to the cinema signs around about showing vaccine passport etc. Wasnt asked once 🤷🏻‍♀️

SortCode · 20/12/2021 10:02

What about 16 year olds?
My Son has had 2 x vaccines in the US I have his CDC card but the vaccines wont be on his NHS record as they are not allowed to put them on!

How do I get him in the cinema?

Not everybody has these though. DH and I got boosters at different centres. He got a card, I didn't. I adked, but they did not have any - huge numbers of walk ins, massive centres, guess they ran out.
SortCode · 20/12/2021 10:07

Have sorted my pass but now concerned about my 16 year old, he only has his US card as proof

OP posts:
Aullu · 20/12/2021 10:08

Take his CDC card and use that as the proof then.

middleager · 20/12/2021 10:09

My 15 year olds weren't asked. They don't have passes at that age anyway.
Just take the card.
Can you ask them on social media?

SortCode · 20/12/2021 10:10

Yes but arent people saying a vaccination card isnt valid OR is a CDC card different to just our cards here

OP posts:
SortCode · 20/12/2021 10:10

He's not 15 he;s 16

OP posts:
Aullu · 20/12/2021 10:13

Yes it's different but in the unlikely situation it's questioned, explain he was vaccinated in the USA and this is the proof. They're highly unlikely to stop him going in, but if you're worried ring up or ask on social media as PP suggested.

middleager · 20/12/2021 10:14

Sorry, he could do a negative LFT I suppose....
but I would just take what you have or ask them on social media to clarify.

SortCode · 20/12/2021 10:23

He's huge overe 6ft looks much older than 16
how do you show a LFT neg result???

OP posts:
Clymene · 20/12/2021 10:26

Does he have an nhs number? You can register the result of an LFT on the nhs and get an email

Coughee · 20/12/2021 10:28

I thought under 18s didn't need the covid pass? So maybe just take some Id if he looks older than 16.

SortCode · 20/12/2021 10:31

So you can get your vaccines you had abroad registered to your NHS account if you are 16 or under you cant - I cant even do it on his behalf!!!! NHS Site says ring your GP for advice.

Just rang and surgery has just said dont have a clue how we do this as we arent allowed to add anything,

So Im going to do a LFT tomorrow and register it and at least then he has a negative test result, his American CDC card and his passport

My goodness Ive spent 2 hours trying to sort this out!!!!!!

Cuck00soup · 20/12/2021 10:33

There are currently no vaccine passports for under 16's but they may be introduced in future.

In England, people who had vaccines overseas can have them recorded in their NHS notes which will enable adults to have a vaccine passport. The arrangements for recording can vary in different areas but 119 should be able to signpost to the right local service.

My top tip is to save your vaccine passport to your Apple or Android wallet as these open a lot faster than the NHS app. Remember though they only last 28 days so you will need to re-save every few weeks.

SortCode · 20/12/2021 10:41

Yes you can get overseas vaccines added but NOT if you're 16 a parent cant even enter details on the 16 year olds request! Im taking a copy of the CDC card to the GP later - to see if they can do something

OP posts:
trumpisagit · 20/12/2021 10:58

They almost certainly won't even ask OP.

Grapesoda7 · 20/12/2021 11:16

I went to a large event that wanted proof of vacc, the little cards were fine.
