Even if they are readily available?
Ours are those fluorescent, bright red cocktail cherries. I’ve had them every Christmas since childhood and it never crosses my mind to purchase them any other time of the year even though I am addicted to them.

Ecclefechan tarts
I was watching a Tik Tok the other day (I know 😳), it was an American trying British and Scottish food. Someone had sent him Ecclefechan tarts. Can’t believe I’ve reached the ripe old age of 48 and have never even heard of them!

We also have brandy butter and advocaat to make snowballs ( we don’t particularly like either but buy them in memory of my grandparents).

Cheese footballs.
I love them, and no-one else in the house does, so they are all mine!

OhWhyNot · 18/12/2021 22:26

Walnuts I eat other nuts throughout the year
Stuffing (I love it)
Pate

35andThriving · 19/12/2021 15:38

alwayswrighty · 19/12/2021 16:01

Turkey
Gammon
Cranberry Sauce
Sprouts
Parsnips
Cheese
Crackers
Pate
Chocolate
Chocolate Cake
Wine

I'm a real calorie counter so most of those are off the cards usually.

alwayswrighty · 19/12/2021 16:02

Oh and peanuts.

Kezzie200 · 19/12/2021 16:08

Yule log. Christmas pudding. Turkey. Chocolate coins. Cheese footballs (the real ones if you can find them!). Mince pies (I only like puff pastry ones anyway).

Kezzie200 · 19/12/2021 16:09

Even though it is Christmas I still don't eat sprouts or fruit cake.

onlyhereforthefood · 19/12/2021 17:19

Smoked salmon
Pigs in blankets
Lebkuchen
Stollen
Pringles

Sunflower101 · 19/12/2021 17:37

Stilton cheese, white Stilton with apricots cheese, Pringles, pork pie, smoked salmon, trifle, mince pies, Christmas cake with marzipan and royal icing.
There have to be a few things that are special to Christmas or they wouldn’t be special anymore or looked forward to!

Squirrelblanket · 19/12/2021 18:46

White bread. We only buy this at Christmas for the turkey sandwiches. Grin

TheNestedIf · 19/12/2021 19:51

Not anymore, because I can't eat much these days and I prioritise other sweets, but I used to get in a box of orange and lemon jelly slices, just because my grandparents always did, and/or After Eights, because my parents always did.
