We might as well stop with this pretense and just let them get on with shafting us from behind in peace

So it will be mass starvation next ???

TheBestofTimesTheWorstofTimes · 18/12/2021 00:18

How thick can he be?

Bunnyfuller · 18/12/2021 00:20

You couldn’t fucking write it, could you.

So it seems basically the whole govt partied like it was 1999.

Now surely people see the contempt the Conservatives hold for the electorate?

But they can’t, can they. Boris has actually confirmed their views around lockdown, human supposed right and Covid is a cold.

Good luck, herd.

@WeeHaggisFace

I laughed out loud when this pinged on my bbc mews app earlier.

If sums up the whole shit show perfectly Grin I don't even think I'm mad anymore.

Exactly @WeeHaggisFace - I should be angry but am highly entertained at this shit show .. maybe because it’s incredulous how farcical it all is now 🤷‍♀️
GreenLunchBox · 18/12/2021 00:33

@GrazingSheep

So it will be mass starvation next ???
Well, they don't like feeding poor kids, so.....

Life here is nothing like North Korea. Our government may be pretty rubbish but it's not comparable to the hell people in North Korea endure.

toomuchlaundry · 18/12/2021 00:46

Maybe go and live in North Korea and report back to us the similarities

GreenLunchBox · 18/12/2021 01:02

@toomuchlaundry

Maybe go and live in North Korea and report back to us the similarities
Don't need to!

Hilarious 😆

Government may have the majority but Johnson needed the opposition this week and will probably be rely on them while the arguments about Covid rumble on

We are far from anything like North Korea or any other country where people’s freedoms are restricted because government wants control over people’s lives (its a very un conservative way)

DingDongMerrilyOnline · 18/12/2021 02:48

I can’t help imagining what Malcolm Tucker would make of this 🤣

Thatsplentyjack · 18/12/2021 07:35

I think North Koreans might be a bit insulted by you comparing yourself to them OP.

Toastmost · 18/12/2021 07:38

I hate when people go omg it's like North Korea/nazis or whatever. Makes the poster look ignorant and pretty stupid.

Forion · 18/12/2021 07:43

It's insulting and lazy to compare this situation to North Korea where citizens are routinely tortured, imprisoned for nothing, controlled and starved.

Just don't do this, you're making yourself look stupid and highly ignorant.

bettys9thleg · 18/12/2021 07:46

I'm not hopping mad but I feel like I should be. It's us not being hopping
mad when they break their own rules that is giving them licence to do what they want also.

notimagain · 18/12/2021 08:08

I doubt the “gatherings” Hmm made any real difference to the epidemic, it’s the impression being given that the very senior management of the country failed to make any real attempt to be seen to be leading by example that’s the real worry.

PhilCornwall1 · 18/12/2021 08:11

It's like living in North Korea at this point

No, it really isn't. They've just banned laughing, drinking and shopping for 11 days. To top that, if a family member dies during that period, you will not cry.

You can guarantee nobody there is saying fuck right off, like some are here about restrictions. Well, they could and then they'd be executed.

worriedatthemoment · 18/12/2021 08:20

@GreenLunchBox my understanding is the met poilce can in this instance look at historic breaches and that would be the same for you and i ,,therefore its not corrupt if they cannot do the same
Also they cannot just pass anything they like all governments in charge have to have. Majority otherwise they wouldn't be in government, your being ridiculous with some things you are staying
Stick to the parties being out of order and most will agree

worriedatthemoment · 18/12/2021 08:22

Meant can't

worriedatthemoment · 18/12/2021 08:24

@MalingeringMary wasn't that actually allowed then ? And im sure happened in many office places
I knew several people in london who met with friends under the false pretence of business in pubs / restaurants etc
What gets me is why would you film something like this especially when you work in an industry where the newspapers will take any scrap

FutureHope · 18/12/2021 08:25

I can’t wait to see the social media memes on this.

You couldn’t make it up.

SapphosRock · 18/12/2021 08:27

This was the week of my DM's funeral. So glad we stuck to the rules and didn't hold a wake for her Angry

That video of Johnson. Bloody hell, how did people get taken in by him? He's grotesque and disgusting.

FutureHope · 18/12/2021 08:36

Whole of government partied like it was 1999 😂😂😂

Munya, you have a patriotic duty to step up on this one

Cornettoninja · 18/12/2021 09:07

Ha! This was pointed out pretty much immediately on LBC following Boris’s announcement he would launch their own investigation.

Honestly, they could have saved themselves from the embarrassment. You’d expect liars and frauds in charge to at least be good at lying and being fraudulent.
