All these threads on pooing got me thinking.. My local park and woods are full of big fat squirrels scurrying around all over the place But I have never ever seen squirrel poo. Where do they go to do their business do they only poo at night? what does it look like is it invisible? Plenty of rabbit poo in the fields, duck poo at the pond, bird poo and dog/cat/fox poo pretty much everywhere but where is the squirrels? Are they non pooing species??

Hah! I always wonder this! I kinda presumed they poo up in the trees or bury it?

Squirrel poo is small, not quite as small as mouse poo, but small for the size of them. In a park or woods it’s be almost possible to see.

If you don’t know what it looks like how do you know you haven’t seen it ?

Squirrels are coprophages

As are quite a lot of other rodents. And a lot of dogs will eat shit too.

What's a coprophage?

Random789 · 14/12/2021 19:29

This question had never occurred to me, but now that you have asked it, it is tearing at my brain. I feel like I have just taken the red pill and encountered a baffling reality.

The most helpful thing I can find out by googling is that they usually poo on the move. Since they move fast this means the pellets are scattered and therefore hard to spot.

@GoodVibesHere

What's a coprophage?
A shit eater (as in eats shit, not as in eats badly)

copro refers to shit (like coprophile - don't google!)

and phage to eating

Ugh interesting... Googling that I found out this.. Baby squirrels cannot poo or wee and have to be stimulated by mother to do so, adult squirrels do it on the run and throw away the poo to avoid attracting rodents they do it behind trees and in trees but never in nest or in same place, their poo is 1-2cm and can be red brown or black with rounded edges.. I need to see some squirrel poo to prove this now!
